This is the second time we have stayed at this property, and it was equally as good, despite Storm Desmond making his appearance!! Unfortunately, we had to cut our break short, due to our grandson being admitted to hospital, just a few hours after he and his parents had left us at the cottage. For the short time we were there, the cottage met all our needs as a family. We will definitely return.

We had previously stayed at this holiday cottage and knew how good it was from before. It did not disappoint. All fixtures and fittings excellent. Good location for exploring either the Lakes or Yorkshire Dales. Kirkby Lonsdale is a great little town. The properties in this small complex share a cycle store which is very close to this cottage. The cycle store is outside but there are points to lock your bikes to. The leisure pool in the adjacent hotel is also a great bonus.

We had a very enjoyable four night stay and found the cottage to be warm, comfortable and spacious. The cottage is built in the grounds of an Inn and this offered a restaurant, bar and leisure facilities on the doorstep which was most welcome. We found the cottage to be very well equipped with everything we would expect and was furnished to a high standard. We would recommend this cottage to anyone.

The cottage was very well equipped with quality furniture and bedding etc, the location meant that you could walk the mile into Kirkby safely (especially once you reached the actual pavement on the outskirts rather than the grass verge) but for us, the 'mezzanine' bedroom simply did not work. We are very old friends and we meet up in that area at least once a year as they live in Scotland and we live in Lincolnshire. We have different TV interests and sleep patterns and the couple who originally slept in that bedroom, soon realised that the noise levels from the open sitting room were impossible to ignore. For example the TV sounded louder up there than in the actual sitting room. After the first night they slept in the rear of the upper floor, using the sofa bed, which is a shame as the double room was very well furnished, with a very comfortable bed. That still meant that the stairs were 'open' from the hallway, but because the sitting room door, and the mezzanine bedroom internal door could be closed the sounds were at more muted. I'm sure that others may find this open-plan design suits them but it did not suit us. We have shared accommodation may times, but if one of the party chose to retire earlier than the others, or read in bed for example, it has never been a problem in the past.
