Experience beautiful panoramic views of Loch Lomond from this holiday property, which is ideal for exploring Ben Lomond and the surrounding area.

Located in the heart of Scotland’s first National Park, these two properties offer an ideal holiday base from which to explore the surrounding area. Montrose House, a former listed period mansion house, offers a spacious ground floor apartment while Lomond View Cottage offers a good standard of accommodation with conservatory overlooking the loch. The sheltered harbour at Balmaha is ideal for sailing and water sports, with walking and hiking enthusiasts also well catered for. A little further afield there is Balloch Castle Country Park where you can take a gentle stroll through the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Magnificent scenery, opportunities for water sports, scenic villages and castles are all within easy reach. Drymen, 4 miles, has a hotel/restaurant, 18-hole golf course and shops. Loch Lomond Shores for designer shopping is within easy reach. Close by, Stirling and Glasgow make for a good day out. Shops and pub 100 yards.

All on ground floor: Living room with patio doors. Conservatory with tiled floor. Kitchen with tiled floor. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Lomond view was excellent. The cottage was very well equipped, including a large flat screen TV. We appreciated the personal touches, including a welcome package. Fiona was very willing to help us when this was needed. Highly recommended.

This was our third time but will be the last. Beds and furniture badly need renewed. New mattresses at least. The location is reason we book but will have to search elsewhere for next year. This is the second year we have had to clean on arrival. Cottage needs a coat of paint and deep clean especially skirtings and under beds.

We booked to stay here for a short break and were thoroughly disappointed by the general state of the property. The directions to find it were ok, but there was no sign on the actual cottage itself and the keypad didn't work and looked ancient. We arrived around 4.30 pm and even although the windows had been left open, the whole place stank of animals and stale smoke. It was so bad that we opted not to have dinner there (despite having planned to cook) and we went across the road to the Oaktree Inn. The fridge smelled awful and everything just seemed very poorly kept. It's a great location but we've stayed at far better properties for half the price and wouldn't ever stay here again unless it had been completely renovated. In general, it just feels like an old run down cottage.

Great location, house has everything you need for a comfortable short break. We had a toddler so the one floor was perfect. Conservatory is lovely would be good in warm weather to open all the windows as 2 would only open. Rugs all need a good Hoover and under sofa (joys of a toddler they get everywhere), couple of the heaters weren't working and the mobile one put in we couldn't use as tiny fingers could get in, otherwise lovely and would return.

We stayed here six years ago when it was newly refurbed, it was excellent then , nothing has been done since, it needs a deep clean and all walls need painting and the ceilings are yellow. There never seemed enough hot water for a bath also
