We enjoyed our stay at Scalby Lodge Farmhouse for our Mum’s 70th Birthday. The house was warm, comfortable and large enough for five adults plus pooch. The heating was either on or off, lovely and warm when on but wasn’t very controllable via the thermostat, as when turning the heating down it went off completely??? Beds a little on the hard side but still comfortable enough. All rooms tastefully decorated. We all had a lovely time but upon looking at future prices we all felt that it is over priced (we got a late booking discount). On closer inspection over the course of our stay cobwebs, a little dirtiness at the side of fridge freezer etc..., peeling or scuffed paint work, which didn’t detract from our enjoyment but the house is showing wear and tear in places and you can tell that it isn’t deep cleaned as often as it should for the prices the owners are demanding. In summary - lovely, warm comfortable house but too pricey. “Five star immaculate prices” charged for “four star comfort”... Pleased we went, Mum had brilliant time but for those prices I expect a little bit...more.

The location of the cottage is in really nice surroundings, distant views of the sea, the cottage is a good size and is comfortable, we have stayed at this cottage 4 times in the past and always enjoyed it with friends and family. A hot tub would be a nice addition? The garden would be better for dogs if it was properly fenced off, but it’s big and the dogs love to run round it.

Wow what a place to stay loved it. Everything you could want from a holiday cottage. Great views from each room. Quality furnishings. Roll top bath is fab. Dog friendly too which is a bonus. Would definitely return and recommend.

Stayed within these cottages four times in the last four years. Lovely setting and the cottages are very nicely decorated and furnished. I just had a sense this year that the cleanliness levels had slipped slightly. The dinning chair cushions were food marked and hadn't been washed for example.

We really enjoyed our stay but would have been better if there had been a hover in the lodge so we could have cleaned

Great location. 10 mins walk away from nearest pub. On the coastal path. Views of Scarborough castle. Big garden for kids.
