For quiet, peaceful seclusion with a comfortable base to operate from this location is fantastic.

Wonderful stay in the basic but homely cabin. Amazing location - sitting out by the loch when the weather allowed and walking to the beautiful hosta beach is an idyllic way to spend a holiday :)

Great location with excellent views. Very well equipped and cosy. Electric heater worked well if you didn't want to light a fire. Bed was too soft unfortunately. The bottle of wine left for our arrival was a lovely touch. The beauty of the grass roof was when it rained you didn't hear it which was appreciated being a light sleeper. The peace and quiet of the location was fantastic. Everything you needed was in the cabin. All in all a good base for exploring the Western Isles. Could do with some glazing units being replaced as they were filling with water but that's the only criticism beside the bed.

Lochside is an ideal hideaway for a quiet holiday. The property is quite difficult to see from the narrow track road, but keep driving and you will find it. The track is very bumpy so good tyres or 4 x 4 will assist. Loch Hosta will reveal much bird life. Hosta Beach has beautiful white sand. The coastal walks are stunning . Lochmaddy is 30-40 minute drive for Calmac ferries. Lochmaddy Cultural Centre has a splendid cafe and arts shop. The Claddach Kirkibost Centre and cafe will not disappoint either. Be prepared for the wind !!
