Lovely spacious cottage in a fabulous location with great views. Decor is a little dated but all very warm and comfortable with really pretty bedrooms. Great log-burning stove in the snug. Remember to bring your own towels (we didn't!). Wi-fi was a nice surprise though. The owners were very welcoming and had left a card, some cake and Easter eggs for the children for us on arrival, and there were vases of daffodils throughout the house. They also phoned to make sure that all was fine. Would thoroughly recommend the cottage and would visit again.

A great cottage in a remote location, perfect for a family break to get away from it all!

The house is quite remote on a valley hillside (10 drive from Dolgelly), & a good base to explore the area. Visits to Harlech, Snowdon, Caernafon.. or going to the start points for walks etc. can involve a fair bit of driving (as expected). No shops or pubs in normal walking distance. The house offers a lot of space for the number of beds, & has 2 lounges. It is in a beautiful, very quiet setting. Bedding is provided. Would need to keep an eye out if did choose to come with small children, especially around the outside of the house - the house is on / part of an active farm. The oil fired oven/hob is less "instant" than some may like, but part of the charm, like the real fires that give a nice evening atmosphere (wood in the shed). There is central heating. The tap water seemed "coppery"/"sulphury" - We chose to buy water for drinking from the fairly large Eurospar which is on the way in to Dolgelly, & is open late Mon-Sat, & also open Sunday. Dolgelly also offers restaurants and take-aways for most tastes. We had a dry week in summer 2015, except one day - can imagine it is sometimes a bit wild/windy and wet - being a west facing valley in NW Wales... All-in-all, a great week.
