Basic but good value - layout was awkward as the television being in the bedroom/lounge was inconvenient. Also the stairs were tricky being open slats which meant an awkward trip in the dark(no handrail) as the bathroom is downstairs. The lane was fine as the weather was good but we wouldn't have liked it in wet weather. The couch upstairs needs updating as does the outside furniture.Good location for us as we knew the area and the owner was helpful and sociable.Great for the dog!

It cost way too much for the electric for a week !! Stairs are slippery out to garden and to bedroom. Bathroom has heaters but is still freezing! The unmade road takes about 7-10 mins off roading so make sure you have a 4x4.. The beams are packed with old t-shirts and cloths!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am very sorry to hear that these guests were not happy with their stay in Little Shuteslade. We would encourage any of our guests to talk to us while they are here, especially when their concerns are so unexpected. I would like to say that the average spend on electric throughout the year in Little Shuteslade is about £6.00 per week. It will be proportionately higher in the colder winter months, which is reflected in the lower rental fee of the cottage in the winter season. Also, the step down to the patio has never been a problem for us or any of our past guests and neither have the open tread wooden stairs to the bedroom, although any wooden staircase could be slippery if care is not taken. The track down to Little Shuteslade is in parts unmade, however, it is perfectly possible to travel down in a standard car, as myself (I have a little Smart car) and my neighbour (who has a Mercedes) can testify! It takes 5 minutes to get from here to the main road.
