A beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. Our first visit to the Peak District, and it certainly won't be the last

Spent a very comfortable week at the cottage. We had everything we needed and it was ideally located for walking in the area. Owners were welcoming and helpful.

It was the third time we have stayed at Little Law and we love it. The cottage is is wonderful, the surroundings are beautiful, there are so many places to visit within close distance. Paula is an excellent hostess, low key but available if required. We will be back.

The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and very clean. It's nicely located close to Holmfirth and the view down the hill outside the cottage is beautiful at night! We would definitely come back here, the following dislikes wouldn't put us off coming back. Our only major dissatisfaction was the shower, which is a huuuge let down when compared to the standard of the cottage on a whole, could really do with a shower head with a lot more force! But the bathroom itself was really clean and it is a lovely size. The shower is the only reason for the low score on equipment! Not having wifi is of course another downside, but it's not really that big an issue when on holiday enjoying a break from normal life!! there is 3G & phone signal in parts of the cottage, but wifi would be a lovely extra. The walls are also quite thin between the owners home & the cottage, as we were able to here their conversations a couple of times. This isn't that big an issue, but we did feel a little conscious of the fact the owners may be hearing us too! You don't want to feel like you're disturbing the owners when you're trying to relax. The double bed is also a little uncomfortable - a king sized bed would fit in the bedroom and would be a fab added extra! But after a night or two we got used to the bed, so not having a king sized / newer mattress, again, wasn't the end of the world! The brushed cotton bedding & duvet tog were SO comfy though, we didn't want to get up every morning after night 2!! All in all, it is a very cosy little cottage, decorated in a beautiful country style & is just the right size for two people not to be under each other's feet all the time! The owners seem proud of their cottage and rightfully so! The downsides listed above only stand out because the rest of the cottage is so lovely & immaculate!!

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Regarding your comments about a king size bed, there is already a king size bed at the property.

The cottage is wonderful and better than we could have imagined. It is a little out of Holmfirth so a car is necessary. We stayed in November and the cottage was warm and cosy. It had all everything you could possibly need for a self catering break and there were some very nice additional touches such as wine and biscuits. My only negative comment is that, as we arrived later than had been anticipated, at 21:30, which was due to unforeseen circumstances, we were greeted with, what felt like, a rather admonishing welcome. However, the wonderful cottage more than compensated for this.
