Enjoy a fantastic holiday at Little Lansker and be sure to delve into the history of nearby Winchester city.

This “upside down” detached holiday property has the bedrooms on the ground floor and living areas on the first floor, with lovely views over the fields. It is located along a peaceful single track lane on the edge of the village of Kings Worthy, which offers local shops and pubs. Only 2 miles from the lively and attractive city of Winchester, the ancient capital of England. Sometimes known as the legendary Camelot, it is steeped in history and culture and was one of the locations for the filming of the ’Da Vinci Code’. As well as the Winchester Cathedral, there’s the magnificent Great Hall and its pride and joy, The Round Table. Cultural enthusiasts will delight in Wolvesey Palace, the Old Bishop’s Palace and Winchester College, one of the oldest public schools in England. Your trip may also include paying your respects at the graves of some of England’s greatest kings and queens, bishops, saints and literary giants such as Jane Austen. Alternatively, there’s the Peninsula Barracks where you can fire a Baker Rifle or find out more about the history of various regiments of the British Army. Winchester also lies on the route of some historic trails and you can walk in the ancient steps of pilgrims on routes that vary from a few hours or could take you all the way to France. Hampshire has a lot to offer visitors, from attractive coastline, the spectacular hills of the South Downs and the lovely chalk streams and water meadows of the Meon Valley, the varied attractions of Portsmouth and Southampton, the New Forest and only one hour from London. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Ground floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, both with en-suite shower room and toilet. First floor: Living/dining room/kitchen.

Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. iPod dock. Electric cooker. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge. Freezer. Wi-fi. Lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (1 car). No smoking.

Great 3 night stay. Ideal location. Supermarket very close by for emergency extras. Extremely comfortable cottage with lots of space for myself and 3 children. Garden to sit in and country walks, but close to town. Hope to return but next time armed with cleaning products - none available in cottage and bathrooms not as clean as expected. Owners across the drive were very discreet. Wifi great, and mobile signal too. Books and games aplenty and TV with usual free view channels. Children happy!!

Property very overlooked by owners home. No cleaning materials provided. Requested a new rubbish bag and had to wait 36hrs. for one. Not good.

Beautiful cottage, immaculately presented in a stunning location. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Only downside is the double bed is very uncomfortable and it was difficult to get a good nights sleep all week. The twin beds were fine for the kids though.

This is a great little cottage in a very peaceful area. However, be aware that it is little! That was probably the only significant thing that I could find wrong with the cottage. If there are four of you and you are likely to be inside for several rainy days during your stay, that may be an issue, but otherwise it only really caused problems with things like two adults both trying to dress at the same time in the main bedroom, or finding somewhere to put your phone, alarm clock, pills etc. that would normally be on a bedside table (not enough room in the master bedroom). The cottage was immaculate and comfortable with pretty much everything we needed. We even made good use of the washer-dryer as this was the second week of a two-part trip. In the kitchen, as well as the normal items there is a dishwasher (which is small, but worked perfectly) but be aware that the fridge is also a small one with a tiny freezer compartment. We found the owners friendly and helpful and as they are very close to this cottage (the other side of the parking) they are easy to contact if needed.

We had a lovely break and the accommodation was well equipped and comfortable, although we felt it could have been nicer with a little more attention to detail regarding decoration and cleaning.

Cottage was in a nice quite location, & we found it more than adequate for the 4 us, and was nice & clean, the only thing I would say was it would have been nice to have a few necessities like dish clothes/tea towels etc in the kitchen. We found the bus route into Winchester was very regular, as parking can be difficult, & only takes 20 minutes from the bottom of the lane. Overall a lovely place.
