We were mislead with the regards to the parking. Was told parking for two cars (as advertised on website) however when we arrived at the cottage there was no one to greet us. Three cars parked in parking area between the two cottages (of which we found out was for the owners only) and a pickup truck parked across the driveway also another car down the side off the other cottage. So had to leave the car round the side off the building next to the farmyard track / lane. It wasn't until Wednesday morning that the owner made contact with us (purely by chance), we were told not to park where we had as it makes it very difficult for the tractors to get through. We asked where we was to park and was told to park out on the road off which was near two road junctions.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We felt disappointed and sorry the guest didn't understand the instruction regarding arrival at little Cumbria. The keys are left for you in the key safe beside the property door. The owners live next to the cottage. We check with guests soon after they have settled in and offer lots of information on the local area good places to visit and eat etc. There are three parking spaces for guests, we can provide four if required. These are in front of the property and around the side. Parking spaces are not on the road - the no through road is a quiet lane leading to neighbouring property only. The footpaths across the meadows are ideal for walks with your dogs. We strive to make sure you enjoy your stay in this lovely part of Dorset. Thank you for all your reviews, we love to leave a wee welcome tray to start your holiday with.

Very much enjoyed our stay here. Well-placed for activities such as walking. Within a couple of miles to the lovely beach at Lulworth Cove and the coastal path. Also many woodland walks to the north. Places of historical interest such as Corfe Castle, Dorchester and Wareham are within easy reach.

We found the cottage to be clean & comfortable & excellent for our dogs with an enclosed garden & country walks on the doorstep. It was within easy reach of the places we wanted to visit & had a great pub five minutes walk away.

We only stayed at Little Cumbria for two nights, but found it comfortable and well appointed. Parking was the only issue as it was unclear which areas were for Little Cumbria and which for Little Meadow.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. The normal amount of parking is fine with 3 spaces available.

Little Cumbria is perfectly positioned to explore this area of Dorset. The cottage was warm and welcoming and had a small enclosed garden perfect for the dog. Fantastic scenery at Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove just a few miles away. Lyme Regis is only an hour away and walks at Charmouth Beach and West Bay (Broadchurch fans note) all within the area. For those bird watchers then Arne RSPB is 15 mins away and dogs are allowed on short leads.
