Discover the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, Yorkshire coast and city of York from this well-placed stone barn conversion.

Explore the Yorkshire Dales, moors, coast and the historic city of York from these well-located barn conversions

Tucked away on the owners’ working livestock farm, these two holiday properties (ref 29352 and 29353) form two of five sympathetic conversions of old stone barns. The farm is home to a herd of cattle, alpacas, pigs and chickens (fresh eggs available). Tastefully furnished, they successfully combine the old with the new to create an ambient atmosphere for simply relaxing, touring or walking direct from the door. The local village is a few minutes’ stroll, whilst the bustling market town of Thirsk is just 4 miles and offers a wide range of restaurants, shops, cafes and pubs, together with the James Herriot Museum and Thirsk Racecouse. Sutton Bank is renowned for its exceptional long distance panoramic views from where you may wish to watch gliders take full advantage of the strong thermals. There is easy access to the Dales, the rugged scenery of the North York Moors and the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough. Alternatively, the quaint picturesque town of Helmsley is a short drive and the historic city of York makes for a full day out. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Lovely property, well equipped and very clean. Owners really friendly and even left Easter eggs for the children. Victoria was good enough to show us round the farm and the kids loved looking at .the animals

Perfect in every way - the cottage was immaculate and with the large-open plan living/dining area upstairs, perfect for a sociable family Christmas. Especially since Victoria had gone to the trouble of putting up a Christmas tree for us! Victoria and Ed made us feel really welcome, and like part of the family, and it was lovely to be on a working farm - it would be lovely for children. The pub in the village was great and within walking distance, and great bits of Yorkshire are only a little drive away. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these cottages to anyone and am already looking forward to staying again.

Second time we have been to this lovely cottage and once again had a great time. The property is spotless and has every thing you need. Nestled between Thirsk and Sutton Bank it is ideally situated for exploring and shopping. The pub in the village is a ten to fifteen minute walk. The meals are delicious with a nice pint of Black Sheep to wash it down, in front of a roaring fire. Definitely recommend and we will be back.
