This property is part of our Cottages4you collection

In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

Discover the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors, Yorkshire coast and city of York from this well-placed stone barn conversion.

Tucked away on the owners’ working livestock farm, these two holiday properties (ref 29352 and 29353) form two of five sympathetic conversions of old stone barns. The farm is home to a herd of cattle, alpacas, pigs, sheep, horses and chickens (fresh eggs available). Tastefully furnished, they successfully combine the old with the new to create an ambient atmosphere for simply relaxing, touring or walking direct from the door. The local village inn serves excellent food and is a 10 minutes’ stroll away, whilst the bustling market town of Thirsk is just 4 miles away and offers a wide range of restaurants, shops, cafes and pubs, together with the James Herriot Museum and Thirsk Racecourse. Sutton Bank is renowned for its exceptional long distance panoramic views from where you may wish to watch gliders take full advantage of the strong thermals. There is easy access to two National Parks (the Yorkshire Dales and the rugged scenery of the North York Moors) and the seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough. Alternatively, the quaint picturesque town of Helmsley is a short drive and the historic city of York makes for a full day out. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

I would highly recommend Little Byre. We have been in several cottages over the years and we all agreed this is the cleanest one we have ever stayed in. The owners have thought of everything. If we were back down Yorkshire way, would definitely stay here again

we had a lovely time at Little Byre, the cottage was lovely and cosy and was equipped with everything that we needed. the whole place was spotless when we arrived. the kids loved all of the animals on the farm and playing with bella the dog and mandoo the cat. visited Helmsley, Whitby and Scarborough and the national bird of prey sanctuary.

Enjoyed our week at Little Byre very much, we got used to the 'upside down' living routine! Unfortunately we were unlucky with the weather but there is a lot to do in the area. We received a very warm welcome from Victoria and it was great to see all the animals on the farm

"Wow! So many great points - stunning accommodation, very friendly family welcome, great location, so many places to visit, a real home from home. Could not have wished for a better holiday, just wish we did not have to go home. We have had such an amazing holiday, we will 1000% be back and will be recommending to everyone. Summer-Grace aged 19 months and 1st family holiday, loved everything and slept better than she does in her own cot at home!

Fantastic accommodation, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. We were there with my daughter, her husband and grandson who is 19 months. He loved going round and seeing the farm animals but particularly loved Bella the wee dog and Mandoo the cat. Lovely fresh free range eggs can be bought. Easy access to Whitby, York, Harrogate etc. Would highly recommend!!

The showers could a little better (power) Heating was a small problem. Comfort was good but main room above bedrooms was an issue with noise. Good overall.
