I usually stay in Ash cottage once or twice a year. Often a group of us friends take all 3 cottages and go walking together on the moor. I've always like Ash Cottage the best, been staying there since 2001, and I love the upstairs room under the eves. the en-suites are very good and comfortable, steaming hot water all day so not only do we get a shower when we get up but can fall in the bath to soak out tired muscles before dinner in the evening. Ash kitchen is good, plenty of space for 2 of us to work on dinner. And a washing machine for those muddy clothes from the day, so we don't need to over-pack to stay clean for the week. Nice big freezer too so we can do the shopping on the first day and not have to go into town again - like that. Pleany of seating for us all to gather round and chat of an evening too.

Lovely location with being 15 min walk from tar steps and local pub. Cottage is a little tired. Leaking bathroom radiator with a milk jug under it collecting the the black dripping water. Cobwebs at high level through the cottage. Kitchen showing signs of age and needs updating. Overall comfortable with great location. Without this the value for money score would be lower.

The cottage was very foisty when entering the property and found that the down stairs bathroom radiator had been leaking for months and had leaked rusty water all over the carpet. We informed the owners of this and they came and took the carpet up and left us With no carpet on a concrete floor for the whole week with just place mats.

Lovely cottage, well equipped and ideally located for exploring the Exmoor area both by car and walking. Lovely pub with fab food in walking distance. Great ice cream up the road at the farm. Anything more than this requires a car. Really peaceful remote location. Only downside was outside area was out of the sun in the evenings, but there was a shared grass area on site. Loads of wildlife, owls, buzzards, right at the door. Exmoor is lovely, and so much within an hour or so drive. Costal resorts, lovely villages and towns, spectacular walks and scenery, historic buildings. Had a fabulous holiday here.

Another fantastic long weekend at Ash Cottage for me and my family, this must be our 4th or 5th stay. The walks are superb the dairy farm a must and the ice cream to die for. Everything you need for a get away is here. We're looking forward to our next visit.
