Set in a pretty village, this charming barn conversion is an ideal base for exploring the local attractions in Wiltshire and Somerset.

These single storey semi-detached holiday cottages (refs 26209 and 26210) are located in an AONB, 6 miles south of Bath, and on the edge of the picturesque village of Faulkland. The cottages are built in the converted stable buildings of this former farm and retain original features including beams and exposed stone walls. Both enjoy stunning southerly views over the garden and beyond. The village has useful amenities including two pubs, a post office and village shop, and there is a lovely green complete with old wooden stocks and the now famous Somerset Lavender farm. The location is ideal for exploring the attractions in Wiltshire and Somerset, including Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury Tor, the beautiful cathedral in Wells, Stourhead House and Gardens, Stonehenge and Longleat Safari Park. Just 15 minutes from the centre of Bath, where you can visit the Roman Baths, Thermae Spa, the Royal Crescent, the abbey, or just enjoy the unique shops, cafés, galleries, museums and restaurants. Shop and pub 1/2 mile.

All on ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 2 double bedrooms: one (5ft) with en-suite bathroom with shower attachment and toilet, 2 steps up to one (6ft zip and link can be twin beds on request) with additional single and en-suite shower room with toilet.

Both properties: Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Shared lawned garden. Patio and furniture. Barbecue. Parking (2 cars). Cycle store. No smoking.

The cottage was ok but could have been cleaner. Couldn't walk anywhere for food as it was too far plus no street lights or footpath.

Lovely little place owned by lovely people. Well situated to explore the surrounding areas and not too far from shops etc. Property was clean, warm and has everything you need including WiFi. Would certainly visit again if we happen to be in this area again.

The Stable is a great destination if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and get back to nature. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well equipped (there was nothing we needed that wasn't provided). It boasts fantastic views of the countryside and the owners (Ian and Judy) couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. The children had access to wifi (essential these days), but they also enjoyed being able to run about outside and pet the animals. It's a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding countryside, and to visit places like Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury and Longleat Safari Park. And there are plenty of local eateries that are well worth visiting. Couldn't recommend the Stable highly enough and I would definitely return.

It's a lovely cottage overlooking very nice scenery. In close distance to both Wells and Bath.
