Description

Located in an Area of Natural Beauty, this barn conversion enjoys stunning views and its set near great local amenities.

These single storey semi-detached holiday cottages (refs 26209 and 26210) are located in an AONB, 6 miles south of Bath, and on the edge of the picturesque village of Faulkland. The cottages are built in the converted stable buildings of this former farm and retain original features including beams and exposed stone walls. Both enjoy stunning southerly views over the garden and beyond. The village has useful amenities including two pubs, a post office and village shop, and there is a lovely green complete with old wooden stocks and the now famous Somerset Lavender farm. The location is ideal for exploring the attractions in Wiltshire and Somerset, including Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury Tor, the beautiful cathedral in Wells, Stourhead House and Gardens, Stonehenge and Longleat Safari Park. Just 15 minutes from the centre of Bath, where you can visit the Roman Baths, Thermae Spa, the Royal Crescent, the abbey, or just enjoy the unique shops, cafés, galleries, museums and restaurants. Shop and pub 1/2 mile.

All on ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 2 double (5ft) bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom with shower attachment and toilet, 2 steps up to one with additional single and en-suite shower room with toilet.

The only problem we had was four of us had to share the shower in one of the bedrooms as the shower over the bath in the other bedroom had no shower curtain or screen. I was in the bedroom nearest the other cottage and could hear everything they were saying and the little boy shouting. I thought it was a very cosy cottage and in a nice area. Would come back again if the shower situation was sorted.

This was my third stay in Dairy Cottage and I'm planning my fourth in the spring. It is so peaceful yet close to civilisation! It has lovely walks right from the cottage and it is cosy, warm and spotlessly clean. And to top it all, the owner is lovely and helpful too

Nice compact cottage. Offering an excellent base for an area rich in places to see, activities and beautiful countryside. Slightly let down by the lack of sharp knives to prepare vegetables, some cracked mugs and a poor potato peeler, but these were very minor niggles. Very reasonably priced, easily heated during the autumnal weather we experienced, our walking gear was soon dry and ready for the next adventure.

I would happily recommend staying at the Dairy. The owners are very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome. The accommodation is spotless and very well equipped. The weather was on the wet side but we still managed to walk into the village over the fields and my granddaughters loved seeing the horses every day.

We had a really lovely short break at the dairy. It really is a beautiful location and the dairy is even better than it looks on the photographs. Lots of space, cosy and comfortable.
