We arrived as a young family of four, to a warm clean house. We were surprised at just how big it was. It soon became apparent that the heating was on a timer and most of the rooms were really chilly, so we had to wear coats. On contacting the owner, they arrived at the house within an hour to amend the issue. Which we were surprised at how quickly they had come to help us. So we were very grateful. The house is in need of some maintenance, but nothing that can spoil your stay. You have all the kitchen equipment that you can need, and the views are stunning, Even In cold February, we went onto the beach , which is directly opposite, every day! Either walking to Clacton Town Centre, or to the Pier, which only takes 20 mins. It was a lovely fresh walk. It was as pleasure to stay somewhere, that you didn't have to use your car to get around. We did not travel far, but even walked to the Town Centre at night time, with young children for a lovely evening meal, in the various restaurants there. It was a lovely stay and We would definatley come back again next year.

Overall a really enjoyable holiday and location, We appreciated the welcome pack and the living accommodation and bedrooms were spacious and well prepared. However, there were some minor niggles. For instance there were pieces of kitchen equipment whichwould have helped, eg casseroles and the fridge could have been checked/cleaned. It was advertised as a Christmas themed or Christmas cottage, but there was no evidence of this. Nevertheless these issues did not detract from the house generally meeting our needs and enabling a good stay.

A wonderful place to holiday in. Beautifully furnished and comfortable. The downstairs bathroom could have been cleaner and it would have been nice if there were oven gloves and a wooden spoon but those are such minor niggles in the grand scheme of how perfect Lily Lodge was for our two families. We had a fantastic week in this ideal home.

Awesome house with lovely big rooms, across the road from the beach... my only criticisms are somewhat minor. I found the wooden blinds on the windows insufficient to cut out the morning daylight. The lack of thick curtains meant the kids got up at 6am every day until I purchased 6m of blackout lining and pegged them to the blinds!! Also a breadbin of some description would be appreciated on the countertop. Other than that we had a fabulous time there.
