A great location but the cottage is tired and in need of a refurb. The fridge door felt like it was going to fall off every time we opened it and the heating system is in need of a service. Maybe we have been lucky in the past!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments. We have now resolved the door on the fridge (there was just a lose a screw). The heating system is serviced regularly and we will monitor this.

A well equipted comfortable cottage in a great location for exploring the Peak District but definitely wouldn't rate as a 4 star..... unfortunately there were a number of issues, firstly decor was very basic and tatty in places. There were leaky taps and fridge not working properly. The living area is very dark and the road outside was extremely busy. There is a parking space at the back of the property but we found this very tricky to park a larger car, very narrow with other cars often parked opposite the space making it very hard to park. We also felt the cottage could have been cleaner , underneath the beds and sofas in particular. We did not take any pets with us but it was clear dogs had been there previously as the rug in the lounge had dog hair all over it- not very nice. Shame really.... just needs a bit of maintenance and better cleaning!

We had a lovely stay at Lees Moor Cottage. It is ideally located for Chatsworth House, Matlock, Matlock Bath and Bakewell, along with many other places. The cottage is clean, and very comfortable, and we instantly felt at home. We would certainly stay again if we were to visit the area in the future. Thank you.

We stayed in this lovely cottage for a weekend of walking and went to a concert in Buxton. The location was perfect, easy to get to wherever we wanted to be, the cottage itself was very welcoming and cosy and we felt it was fantastic value for money. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Had a really enjoyable stay in Rowsley, felt like home from home! Everything was cleaned and presented to a high standard and the cottage was equipped with everything you could possibly need. Lees Moor Cottage is in a good location with good amenities, although the closest grocery store we came across was about a 5-10 minute drive (coop fuel station), we didn't find one in the immediate proximity of the cottage. We did a few walks while we we're there; one from Rowsley itself, one from Lady Bower which was about 30 minutes away and one from Castleton which was a similar distance away. My only niggles really are that the parking was tight at times depending on how neighbours had parked, and the outside patio is quite small, neither of which are within the owners control so they are only small niggles. Overall we had a really enjoyable stay in a lovely presented cottage in a good location, and there was plenty of room down stairs for our dog to potter around (he also enjoyed his stay!). Lee the house keeper was also really helpful and friendly when I called about accessing the property. Thank you for a really enjoyable stay :-)
