Had a super week there, total switch off no phone signal no wi-fi. Lovely little house, a treat for our anniversary. 10 out of 10

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage but did not give it full marks for the reasons detailed below. We were looking for somewhere out of the way and this was what we got! We didn't mind not having a phone signal but there was no wi-fi either so no way to communicate at all which proved difficult for us as I became ill and found it very hard to find somewhere to make a call from. It is very comfortable and I got some great sleeps as the thick walls make it very quiet, even on the roughest of nights. Its location is ideal for the 'get away from everything' principle but somewhere more central would have cut down on the travelling involved with exploring the island. The cottage is very clean but there is a damp smell emanating from the under sink cupboard which I am sure will be sorted by the owner over the winter period. The nearest amenities are limited as Uig is only a small village but there are a few essentials like shop, Post Office, petrol and food available. This cottage was priced fairly I would say, when compared to others I have been to.

The cottage is ideally suited for a couple. Nearby are many attractions such as the Souterrain, the Museum and Flora McDonalds Monument plus the beautiful mountain ranges and sea views. To the south, there is the small port of Iug (two miles), the Fairy Glen with its unusual formations and then all the wonderful scenery and waterfalls. The main town of Portree is a pleasure to visit, and to travel north from there is a delight, seeing the lochs and the Old Man of Storr. The holiday was just what we wanted, pleasant accommodation, relaxation, wonderful sights and scenery together with the friendliness of all the locals we encountered. Thankyou so much.
