A wonderful time was had, perfectly situated for both the coast and areas like Wasdale. The cottage is just perfect in location and in its own beauty with a wonderful little river running by it. Great for children and if you like running / walking you only need to step outside the door and set off in any direction to enjoy some lovely sights. The RSPB sanctuary, great beaches, inland walks and mountains and Ravenglass and muncaster castle and the steam railway are just some of the recommended places to go.

There's not much in Haverigg which is part of the attraction for us. Quiet open beaches which are within easy walking difference. The cottage is really dog friendly & very well equipped.

The cottage was fine but the location was terrible & not what we were expecting. From the photos you assume your in a nice green part of the Lake District but in reality you have a factory opposite and your in between 2 built up areas of council houses and run down shops. If you want this cottage just as a base it is probably ok but we did seem to drive quite a way to find somewhere nice to visit. What we have learned from this experience is to checkout the area on google maps first.

We have recently enjoyed a lovely relaxing and comfortable stay at Laurel Cottage. The cottage was very homely and well equipped and immediately made us feel at home. The lovely garden was a fabulous space to be able to sit outside and unwind and for our dog to play and explore.
