This is a lovely, spacious cottage, for a very reasonable price. The owners live next door, and were extremely friendly, though their English isn't much stronger than my French, so we did lots of smiling and pointing ;-). They even brought us a homemade pear-and-chocolate tart, which was delicious! Earlier reviews referred to a fly problem, and attributed it to the chickens - there are chickens (they're very cute), but they are at the end of the garden, a good distance from the house. We didn't have a particular problem with flies - no more than you might expect, given that we kept the door open most of the time, because of the hot weather. The setting is very peaceful and rural - the road is fairly quiet, mostly frequented by tractors, and there are thousands and thousands of small birds, some of which actually nest in the wall of the cottage. They were entirely fearless, and fascinating to watch. Also, at dusk, we saw bats flitting about. The biggest weakness with staying here is the WiFi - the router sits in the owner's cottage, next door, and the thick stone walls mean that the signal doesn't travel well. The children spent most of their spare time sitting on the stairs, where they could get YouTube working. I read Twitter from the patio, which had a reasonable signal, but there was nothing at all from the living room, which would have been irritating if the weather had been bad. Holiday WiFi is often hit-and-miss, though, and it was no worse than most places. We had a lovely time, and would certainly recommend.
