A couples retreat alongside the canal in a friendly village close to Warwick, Stratford and even Birmingham for bustling bars and shopping.

You will be offered a very warm welcome at Lapworth House Cottages which are located in Lapworth, Warwickshire, between Warwick and Birmingham. Rosecomb (ref UKC2214) and Welsummer (ref UKC2215) cottages are semi-detached and lie within the discreet owners’ 9-acre grounds. Say hello to the friendly donkeys in the adjacent field or ask the owner for a tour to see geese, peacocks and the chickens. The Stratford-upon-Avon canal runs along the edge of the grounds and the towpaths can lead you to a choice of pubs. The energetic can take advantage of the tennis court by direct arrangement with the owner. There is a lovely community spirit in Lapworth village, which is located close to many areas that are just waiting to be explored. There are two National Trust properties very close to the village: Packwood House, a restored Tudor house with a park and garden, and Baddesley Clinton, a secluded and intimate estate with 500 years of fascinating and unexpected stories. Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon is 12 miles away, and Warwick, with its famous castle, is 9 miles. Henley-in-Arden, with its mile-long high street full of designer shops and gastro bars, and its famous ice cream, is 4 miles. For a wider range of high street shops, Solihull is 9 miles away and Birmingham, home of the Bull Ring shopping centre, is 13 miles away. Also close by are the delightful towns of Kenilworth and Leamington Spa. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 5 guests.

Kitchen: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and tiled floor.
First Floor:
Bedroom: With double bed.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, and toilet.

Both properties: Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Welcome pack. External utility room with washing machine (shared with other property on-site). Courtyard with sitting-out area and garden furniture (shared with other property on-site). Tennis court available on request (shared with owner and other property on-site). Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.

    This cottage was everything that the website stated it would be and more! Mike the owner was so helpful without being intrusive and the welcoming gifts were well received. We enjoyed the cottage do much that we have booked again for March, 2018. The cottage us in a quiet location in an area where there are do many attractions etc to visit.

    Rosecomb was a delight to occupy. It was scrupulously clean and well-appointed, with everything that a holiday maker would need. The owners were on hand when required but otherwise did not intrude, and they generally could not have been more helpful, even to the extent of immediately forwarding items of clothing that had inadvertently been left behind. The general location is quiet, but there are several Pubs offering excellent meals within about three miles. Whist being quiet, there is nevertheless plenty to do and see, particularly for people looking for historic sites and buildings. There are several glorious National Trust houses etc within about 30 miles drive, whilst the closest, Baddesley Clinton is a wonderful, historic moated manor house a mere 3 miles drive from the cottage. Then of course the are the Royal Shakespeare Theatre at Stratford upon Avon, Warwick Castle and Coventry Cathedral, all within about 15 miles. To top it all, the generous car parking facilities at the cottage provided the best "conker" collecting opportunity for many a year.
