Description

There are plenty of attractions within easy reach, including National Trust houses, Dartmoor and popular Eden Project.

Tucked away in a quiet rural location and enjoying views over the Kensey Valley and surrounding countryside, these superb adjoining apartments (refs T44, T45 and T46) lie within the grounds of the owners’ farmhouse. Set amongst open countryside, they have been renovated to a high standard and offer inviting holiday accommodation - perfect for exploring the surrounding area. Each property has access to the garden of the main house, where there is a play area. There are also pigs and free range chickens, which children can help to feed, or collect the eggs, which are available for guests to purchase. Fronted by an attractive courtyard with a barbecue and picnic area and two paddocks that are perfect for walking the dogs, visitors will find plenty of space to relax and unwind.

The apartments offer an ideal base for touring both Devon and Cornwall, and are within easy reach of the A30. Located centrally between north and south coasts, it is not more than a 25-minute drive from a selection of good sandy beaches ideal for rock pooling, surfing and dog walking. Boscastle and Tintagel, the small sandy cove of Trebarwith Strand and Crackington Haven, as well as some of the most spectacular coastal walks in the area can be found nearby. Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are within easy reach as are several magnificent National Trust houses and gardens. The popular Eden Project is also easily accessible.

Historic Launceston, 1 mile, once the capital of Cornwall, offers a medieval castle, a selection of shops and a steam railway. There are two excellent golf courses within a short distance and a selection of horse riding schools nearby. Shops 1½ miles and a selection of local pubs offering excellent food; nearest approximately 1 mile.

Lovely cottage in beautiful location. The owners were very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. Nice welcome gifts of tea, coffee, wine, flowers etc. Probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in and would love to come again.

5 Star. DEFINITELY NOT.The access to this property is via a goat track that is in a disgusting condition long overdue for some major repairs. The kitchen pots and pans need urgent attention.Loose handles on pots no lids and fry pans in unhygienic condition.Long overdue for replacement. The shower was absolutely useless.More chance of a shower standing under a leaky tap.The fridge door could not be shut due to the large amount of ice built up around freezer compartment.Unsatisfactory housekeeping.Fortunately we only had to endure 1 night with guests above us The banging thumping and crashing was not welcome. The noise control was non existent.Had this occurred earlier in our stay we would not have stayed the duration of our booking. The continual barking of the dogs next door was also becoming unacceptable.Could not and would not recommend this property. We had 10 cottages on this stay to the UK and this was by far the worst.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments, we are always keen for feedback from our guests. It is such a pity you never mentioned any of this to us during your stay, as we always endeavour to solve any problems where possible at the time of complaint. I am aware that our driveway can be problematic for some guests. I'm not sure it is a goat track, just a bumpy lane as we are in a very rural location. However this is now being dealt with, and the drive is being re-surfaced this week. I also apologise for the barking. As you were aware, we had just bought a puppy, and he was only 6 weeks old at the time of your stay. He is now well trained at night. Many apologies that the pots and pans were not in acceptable condition. These have been replaced, as has the shower head. Once again, many apologies that this property did not live up to your expectations.

A well equipped cottage, modern decor and excellent bathroom.Very dog friendly and plenty of room for your dog to run off his lead. Within walking distance of nearest pub, about 40mins,but you do have to walk on narrow lanes with no pavements for approx half of the walk, which maybe OK in summer months but difficult in the dark in Autumn. On the plus side though only 5 minutes drive. Excellent position, about halfway between north west and south east coasts.
