A comfortable and well-equipped cottage and we were made very welcome by the owners. The setting was glorious, quiet and peaceful, with just the sound of birdsong and occasional tractor or cow! A beautiful, spacious garden which was well fenced and completely secure for our dogs - even our tiny Jack Russell X couldn't find a way out! The dogs were completely happy being able to wander around outside and knowing they could do so, without fear of losing them, made it a very relaxing holiday for us. There were lots of lovely places to visit nearby, beaches and pubs where we could take the dogs. All in all, a lovely holiday - we will definitely be back!

Was nearly put off when reading one of the reviews saying that it smelt of damp and the carpet was stained and in need of refurbishment, what a load of Rubbish I'm glad that I took no notice of it, the cottage was clean and fresh with nothing I can criticise, the garden was fantastic and huge the dogs had a real time running around with the owners dogs (Dave & Ronnie) the location was superb so quiet and central, just a couple of minutes from the beach, the owners Paul & Chrissie were so polite, friendly and helpful, Overall we all had a great time and would go again so it's a 10 for you both Paul and Chrissie. PS The bed was really comfortable

Comfortable, cosy and attractively quirky, Lamorran was the perfect hideaway for exploring this stunning part of the Duchy. Extremely dog friendly, safe and secure. Set in a truly idyllic location.

Cottage location excellent for those who like to stay in a quiet, tranquil setting overlooking a large wild garden with a variety of bird life, some rabbits, and pheasants. Interior was adequate, though I found the ensuite bedroom had little room to move around, and the ensuite was chilly and smelt damp. Also the chairs in the lounge were low and not very comfortable to relax in. Warmer sunny days meant one could sit outside on comfortable loungers.

Response on behalf of the owner; We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the location of our property and made the most of our beautiful garden. Thank you for informing us that our seating in the living room was uncomfortable. We have written a lengthy letter to the manufacturer "Chesterfield", who have been making these suites for over 300 years, suggesting to them that they make their seats a little taller & more comfortable. As for our en-suite bathroom smelling of damp, bathrooms are in nature 'wet' rooms and should you have made full use of the extractor fan provided and opened the window, I am sure it would have been dry. We cannot find any evidence of damp (i.e. mould etc.) and could not smell any either. We pride ourselves on cleanliness. Our cottage is extremely well equipped, we replace any equipment that has been damaged by our guests at all times. We supply everything and more as suggested in agency guidelines.

Lamorran is a beautiful secluded cottage & the owners Paul & Chrissy made us extremely welcome. We would not hesitate to recommend this holiday cottage to anyone that wishes to have a peaceful retreat to return to everyday after exploring the Cornish countryside. The only negative thing was having to leave at the end of our stay. If you take your dogs with you they will enjoy the large secure garden as ours did. On arrival Paul was on hand to meet us & give a tour of the property. There was also some welcome gifts for us to consume on the kitchen table. To summarise this was the best holiday cottage that we have ever stayed in.

Lamorran is set in a fabulous location but sadly is in need of renovation. The place smelt very damp and the doors/carpets showed obvious signs of damage caused by damp. It is not very well equipped, for example there were no tongs for doing a bbq or turning sausages. A window in the kitchen was damaged and we couldnt use it and also the door from the kitchen to the garden was out of action also. The garden was fabulous, the owners were lovely and really did respect our dogs and their dislike of other dogs, just felt the place needed some money spent on it to bring it up a notch.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Taking your points in turn. We do not have a damp problem at Lamorran or this would have been mentioned by other guests, maybe because this August was the wettest on record did you experience this. We are also at the mercy of previous guests who might not have been airing the property during their stay after taking showers, boiling kettles, letting wet dogs in etc... Have absolutely no idea what you meant about the doors being damaged because of dampness as they simply are not. Most customers also compliment us on how well equipped and how comfortable the property is so this comes as a great surprise to us. All you could mention was the lack of barbecue tongs to turn sausages with, which we found quite amusing. It was very harsh to score us 3 out of 10 over this. We always tell all our customers that if they need anything at all to knock on our door, you should have just asked us for this if it was that important to your enjoyment of your holiday; we would have gladly provided you with some. The kitchen area which links to the dining area has 4 windows; there is also an extractor fan so airing the kitchen area should not have been an issue. Also the property has 2 working outside doors. We decided to condemn the conservatory door as guests were struggling with the complicated door mechanism which resulted in leaving it open in all-weather which in turn left us with a costly repair bill to replace the flooring. Most people would find 2 working doors for this size property more than sufficient. We would also like to remind you that we accommodate up to 4 dogs all year round to allow people like yourselves (who had 3 dogs) to enjoy a holiday away, a downside of this is that our carpets might not be as pristine as we'd like them to be but to be fair we do hoover them thoroughly every week and clean any stains we might find. As we do the cleaning ourselves we know that under no circumstances a rating of 5 out of 10 was deserved. Maybe you rated this at the end of your stay on how you left it; this can be the only explanation. We constantly get a rating between 9 and 10 for Cleanliness. Cleanliness is one of our main priorities. Thank you for your comments about us and the location and the garden though and as they say 'there's always one'.
