Great holiday, lovely lodge, very well equipped and great area to stay in and explore. Fantastic walking including straight from the lodge. Our first visit back to the Lakes in over 10 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Only negative was the food at the on-site pub, The Haybarn, really disappointing when we ate there. Food took ages to come and then overcooked and dried out. Even kids pizzas were burnt. Much better meals at other local pubs including Kirkstone Pass Inn, and the Sun at Crook. Great holiday base and would love to return, have fallen in love with the Lake District again!

The accomodation was very good and clean and was decorated to a high standard. The location was good and not far from Bowness on Windermere, but there wasn't much to do on the site and so most of the time was spent out and about during the day. It was nice and quiet and the scenery round about was lovely. There was a little play park that our daughter enjoyed but didn't see any other children in it while we were there.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful setting. However, the outside of the lodge did not match the cleanliness of the inside of the lodge. On arrival, we were met by a partially filled yogurt pot or something similar on the decking outside the front door, the contents of which appeared to have been splashed all over the outside of the front entrance. Also the barbeque area looked like it had been left from the previous occupants and all the decking, especially around the barbeque area, was in need of a good tidy up and a sweeping up. Lakeland Lodge did not look as nice from the outside as the other lodges roundabout that area. For the amount we paid, we thought everything would have been spot on. Couldn't fault the cleanliness and comfort of the inside.
