Laity vean annex is a lovely place to stay in, the kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms all very clean and tidy, the conservatory is a nice size, if it didnt snow it would have been a great holiday. will definitely come again but in the summer

We had a very good holiday. The property was comfortable and well equipped. However, the state of the bathroom was very much below standard and needed maintenance. The shower tray had mould around the seals and needed re-sealing. The toilet seat was damaged and needed replacing. The hot taps in the kitchen and bathroom turned on their mountings when turned on. I have already reported this to one of your advisers.

Good location, bedrooms nice, bathroom needs attention, cleanliness ok, boiler noise annoying especially during the night. Laura who manages the property was very helpful.

The Annex was bright and clean with comfortable beds and sofas. Plenty of space for the kids to run around, inside and out. Fresh bed linen and towels provided and essentials like tea, coffee and milk waiting for us on arrival. Meaning we didn't need to run out to the shop as soon as we got there. The location is good, close enough to be able to walk to local shops and restaurants but far enough from main roads to be quiet. A 15-20 min walk to the beach, or to the train which takes you into St Ives (3 min train ride and only costing a couple of pound). Would definitely (and already have) recommended this to others.

Lovely clean cottage. Location great for what we wanted. Close to local amenities pubs and restaurants but not in the middle of it all. Short taxi ride to St Ives which was cheap fare approx £7 each way. Cottage had everything you needed and all info provided up front. Will definitely return

Pretty good overall but let down by very noisy boiler (we had to switch it off), leaking radiator in one bedroom (wet carpet), overgrown and unkept garden, garden furniture covered in rust and unusable (we had to buy some chairs to use). Handy and quiet location with easy access to St Ives by train.

Good points: Dog safe yard (not garden) but gap under gate not suitable for small dogs, they could get out if not supervised. If it is raining when you arrive, you could get very wet transferring your luggage from car to cottage so make sure you take a big brolly and wet-gear. The beds were comfortable and the linen clean as were the towels; the bedrooms were of a reasonable size and reasonable but with cheap storage cupboards and drawers. The floor throughout is natural slate, which is fine, but it needs resealing and underfloor heating would have helped. There are Velux windows in the roof so there is no view from anywhere other than of the sky above. Poor points: The kitchen was unfinished with gaps where appliances once stood and the boiler was not working well, noisy and overflowing some of the time. The engineer called after two days and fixed it. The shower room needs a refit although the shower is of a good size (900 x 900mm). There is no shaver socket and the toilet seat is disgusting - needs replacing immediately. The conservatory was dirty (the cottage in general wasn't brilliantly clean, but this was the worst room); dust everywhere and cobwebs held the roof supports together! The PVCu glazing frames need a good clean and there were dead flies around (This was in early March). However, the furniture was just about okay, comfy sofa - but cheap Mexican-style timber coffee table and TV table. The rest of the furniture is made up of odd bits and pieces; nothing coordinates or contributes to creating a cottage atmosphere. The TV is small, but then we weren't on holiday to watch TV, but the weather was really awful so a decent set might have made a difference. It was also hard to keep warm in there; even with two oil-filled radiators on full belt and a 2Kw fan heater, which was noisy so the TV volume had to be loud, too! There are no views from the vast amount of glass in the conservatory other than of the yard and other property in the courtyard. It is not very private (and there were builders working next door) so don't even think about walking around the place in your underwear. There are some curtains and a rail missing and no curtains at all for the glazed double entrance. Wherever you go, you'll probably have to drive or take a long walk, so not so good if you are infirm or elderly or maybe want to use your vehicle less than usual. Nearest decent sized shops (Tesco) is a drive away. All in all, not good value and I certainly wouldn't want to pay the summer prices. We have stayed in much better properties in Cornwall for less money. Sorry.
