A lovely house with great views of the lake and garden. We were however a little disappointed that we had to pay for heating and hot water over what was a peak and price premium Christmas period, otherwise very pleasant stay

The cottage is spacious, comfortable and really well equipped. The appliances are top of the range, very unusual in a holiday let in our experience. However, it is quite remote, with a fair drive to the nearest grocery store. The pond was a big disappointment, unable to fish at all as it is almost completely covered in plants. The ducks are able to walk across, there is very little open water. As the fishing was one of the main reasons we booked, this did impact on our enjoyment, and we had to pay for a days angling elsewhere. It really is a shame and must also must be detrimental to the health of the fish that are in there. Having said that, the house and gardens are lovely, really relaxing. The owner called to ensure all was well, as there had been an issue with the shower the week before we came, which was thoughtful and appreciated. If the pond was sorted, it would be our ideal rental.

This was our second visit to this lovely house and overall we enjoyed it. However the shower in the main bathroom didnt work, it was broken. we were told it would be repaired on the Wednesday, which it was. However, in between we couldn't get any cold water in the bath so three of us were sharing an en-suite in the downstairs bedroom. the first shower we had was on the Friday morning. Emailed to the owners who thus far have not replied, shame really as we were thinking of booking next year. No point in asking booking agent for a refund, they will only give you a voucher which will just about cover the booking fee!
