Description

Set in wooded hills above the picturesque harbour town of Honfleur, La Lune de Miel is a pretty, detached farmhouse conversion boasting a conservatory and a large enclosed garden

Set in wooded hills above the picturesque harbour town of Honfleur, La Lune de Miel is a pretty, detached farmhouse conversion boasting a conservatory and a large enclosed garden. Elm beams are a striking feature in the living room as is the ancient stone hearth and fireplace. Honfleur is internationally known as a centre for artists and their work. The rows of colombage holiday houses vying for space along the harbour front add to the picture-postcard atmosphere of this vibrant town. Further afield can be found the cosmopolitan resort towns of Deauville and Trouville. Deauville is famed for its annual film festival and ‘walk of the stars’.

Ground floor: Living room with open fire and French doors. Dining room/kitchen with French doors. Conservatory. Separate WC. First floor: Three double bedrooms, one with folding bed. Bathroom/WC with roll top bath and shower attachment. Sloping ceilings on first floor. Beams throughout

Fantastic property in wonderful location. Steep stairs and hard concrete floors - so care needed with very young children.

An old house which still needed a bit of doing. In a good area

A cottage in a picturesque setting. The location was ideal for our planned activities and within driving access of Honfleur. A little more attention to some "creature comforts" e.g. Wifi, freezer, wood chips for fire, cottage information booklet would have made this cottage perfect. We will recommend this lovely cottage to our friends.

This is a beautiful gite in its own large garden/orchard. A 5-minute winding climb out of Honfleur leaves the busy port behind and you find yourself in a quiet, totally private spot away from the "madding crowd". The bedrooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable; the kitchen/diner is large, bright and very well equipped; the lounge has 2 large sofas in front of a open fire, and there's a conservatory on the side. The owner and his partner were very helpful with pre-holiday tips and prompt action when we had difficulty with one of the door locks (which turned out to be our reluctance to apply the pressure it needed). This is definitely a 5 star property in our opinion and one to which we hope to return.

Nice property in a beautiful setting, plenty of space for our group to spread out. Lovely breakfast room. Had 1 more bedroom than we expected... Was a bit tricky to navigate to initially, but we got used to it after a few days. Some of the utensils and kitchen equipment could do with updating/de cluttering and there were a few exposed wires hanging out of walls and sockets without covers. On the whole, we had a lovely stay and probably would go back.
