Bright, clean barn conversion in a rural, peaceful location close to an AONB and coastline. 10 acres of grounds to explore.

"...a fine, rural location where wildlife and natural woodland are waiting to be discovered"

These eight charming holiday cottages (MQP, MQT, MRJ, MRK, MTA, MVK, MVL and MVM) are set in a beautiful small development of traditional farmhouse and barn conversions close to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the Northumbrian Heritage coastline. Set in some 10 acres of peaceful and tranquil surroundings, the grounds are a mix of natural woodland with wildlife in abundance, courtyards, lawns and a traditional theme of Northumbrian Heritage throughout.
Guyzance dates back to 1242 and is a small hamlet located south east of Alnwick on the River Coquet amidst picturesque open countryside, yet close to all the main visitor attractions in the county. Warkworth is only 3 miles away with its hillside castle, charming small shops, pubs and river walks, while Amble, 5 miles, is a very friendly fishing port with a bustling working harbour and a new marina. Boat trips can be taken to the nearby RSPB reserve at Coquet Island. Alnwick with its mighty medieval fortress of Alnwick Castle - one of the finest in Europe and stage set for Harry Potter and Braveheart - is set in stunning landscape.
The cottages offer fittings of a very good standard and the décor is tasteful throughout each one. Each cottage is different yet each has its own sitting-out area with a barbecue to relax in after a day exploring the beautiful unspoilt coastline and areas surrounding this skilfully designed and tasteful setting. Newcastle city centre with its fine galleries, Centre of Life, Sage Centre, theatres and regenerated quayside area is only 30 miles away. The Metro Centre is only 30 miles distant. Shops and pubs 3 miles.

Generally we found the cottage very comfortable and well equipped. The things we found disappointing was the bed and bedding. The bed was two mattresses on top of one another which wasn't very comfortable or supportive. the pillows, protective covering and bed linen was old and needed updating. Also throughout our stay there was a bucket and mop left at the front door, not the most attractive thing to greet you when you arrive.

A lovely setting in a rural location. Over all we were happy with the cottage, spacious and well equipped but a few little niggles like lack of teaspoons and poorly remote control for the TV. Our main gripe was the bed which had been cobbled together out of two beds and had the feeling of sleeping in a cot. Was greeted by a mop and bucket at the front door which held its post all week.

Perfect location, nice and peacefull, almost too quiet! Came back completely refreshed, Northumberland is the perfect getaway holiday especially if you have a dog and love walking. Only silly niggles, such as one tea towell, no kitchen towell, no towel rail or hooks anywhere, no washing line although there is a washing machine, only one dishwasher tablet, 3 teaspoons, bed sheet too small... As I said silly things you just notice, otherwise perfect.
