In a courtyard setting, and close to Hereford, great walking and cycling in the area, Forest of Dean and Puzzlewood are nearby.

Ideally located to visit the pretty market towns of Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury, famous for its poetry festival, and Hay-on-Wye, renowned for its literary festival and known as the ’Book Capital of the World’. The area offers great walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing and golfing. The Forest of Dean has wildlife in abundance and many picnic sites, with Puzzlewood and Go Ape making for great day trips. Symonds Yat and Yat Rock, where peregrine falcons nest, are popular with climbers and offer stunning views down the Wye Valley. Pippin is a lovely, comfortable cottage which I re-booked this year, having been so impressed last year. Charming owner too!

We stayed at Pippin in the high season which as we were a party of two and the cottage sleeps six was not terrible economical. However for larger groups it represents very good value for money. The cottage was very clean and spacious and has a small enclosed garden which is ideal for families with small children. WIFI was available and a welcome pack provided. The road to the cottages is rather busier than we are used to but only noisy at peak times.

well equipped cottage but constant traffic noise from the road alongside day and night. unable to have the peaceful holiday we expected from a farm cottage.

    Response from: administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We hope that all our guests have a pleasant stay and are disappointed when they don't as so much hard work goes into stocking, cleaning and in helping guests make the most of their stay. However there is only one season where farm traffic around the area can be a problem and that is around potato harvest time. Exactly when this occurs is weather dependent and is usually of short duration (less than a week). In fact many guests enjoy watching harvest time, marvelling at the immensity of the machines and how well organized the process is. It is extremely unfortunate then that these guests were disturbed for the entirety of their stay and for that we apologize but was completely out of our control.

We had a really, really lovely stay at Pippin. The cottage was well equiped and absolutely spotless. It made a great base to explore Hereford, and we ventured into Wales a few times too. Great stay!

Cottage lovely and location good, however it was on a very busy/noisy road which was the only disadvantage.
