Kittiwake is a lovely, warm, clean and comfortable cottage in a wonderful location. It was very well equipped and had lots of storage space. The outside space is fantastic and how great it was to have breakfast on the patio (even in October !) and look at the marvellous view. We have booked holiday cottages for over twenty years and this is one of the best.

An excellent cottage in a fantastic location - the scores are high and deservedly so. BUT there needs it be a better way of guiding and supporting visitors with regard to parking. We arrived to in rain find that there was no space to pull into park for any length of time. I know it’s not quite the fault of the owners but at least four properties nearby are being renovated/built. This meant many extra commercial vehicles in an already crowded street. We couldn’t stay long and we didn’t find the parking permit. So we went to the owners garage we had booked. On the way we were badly delayed by a minor accident involving another car and a builders truck. The access to the garage is very poor and we gave up. As the road back to the cottage was blocked we went to the central car park in town and in the absence of any instructions paid for a week’s parking at the park and ride. When we eventually got in to the property after walking back up we found the car parking permit in a box in the kitchen two floors below the front door. So we paid for the parking twice. This didn’t entirely ruin our holiday and we eventually brought our car back down the central car park. Please can the car parking permit be located near the front door onto the street and accessible to new visitors on arrival? Thanks

This is a lovely place - we felt immediately 'at home' as soon as we arrived. The décor is neutral and tasteful and the house is immaculate and well-equipped. The views from all floors are wonderful. Those who stay here must be prepared for steep climbing (both to the property and within it - it is on 3 floors) and driving to load/unload can be a little difficult due to the extremely narrow access road. However, this goes with the territory in Dartmouth and is one of the reasons the views are so spectacular from this property. The outside space is beautifully kept and a real sun-trap. It was extremely helpful to have the parking permit - we felt this was a better and more practical option than renting the small garage that is available by separate arrangement with the owner. Spaces in the public car park may be harder to find during peak season but we certainly had no difficulty in late September.

wonderful house. very clean and well equipped. views are lovely and plenty to do in Dartmouth without the need for a car. Did not want to leave and would go back every year if we could.

We are both over 75 and active. The warnings on the challenges presented by the position of the property and its internal lay out did not prepare us enough. As some previous hirer commented we now know just how old we are. The first problem was the rout to the property namely Milton Road was closed so finding Above Town became a great challenge. Else the view was stunning, the property spectacular and very well maintained.

Quirky house set high up overlooking the Dart Estuary.Fantastic views from all three floors.Beautifully renovated with no expense spared- state of the art kitchen and lovely terrace area outside. The road up to the house is very (!)narrow and steep and the house is on three floors with steep stairs so don't come if you are infirm or unfit. We parked in the main car park with the parking permit which was great( can be used in other car parks too) but it is 77 steps to get down to plus a short walk.
