Whilst the accommodation was comfortable enough, we only found out we had no gas when we noticed there was no hot water. The owner had apparently been told the previous guests could smell gas so it was tuned off. In our opinion, this should have been sorted immediately and before we arrived. Also, I had to bring it to the owners attention but he knew already but never told us. It was sorted within 24 hours but for a quarter of our break, we had no cooking facilities. There was also a wasps nest that the owner was aware of but again, this was not sorted until I contacted him. As we have 2 dogs and I hate wasps, we could not risk sitting on the balcony until the nest had been sorted. My partner also got a shock off the toaster, The owner took it away but did not replace it with a new one. There were only 3 main seats in the lounge but it houses 4 adults!! And there were only 3 mugs but the owner brought more when I told him.

A basic but very comfortable lodge. Perfect for exploring the Lake District and Yorkshire and easily accessible to the coast at Morecambe. You definitely need a car at this location. The site itself was immaculately clean and fairly peaceful. Kingfisher lodge is far enough away from the motorway that the noise is not really intrusive. Great to have a swimming pool on site and the girls enjoyed a massage. The bar was child-friendly and offered a decent range of food for all the family. Overall, a good base for a holiday and we'd be likely to stay again.

I've been to this lodge three times now, it is pet friendly, clean and exceptionally well located in the Lakeside Park. The Sports and Swim facilities are clean, and welcoming. There are plenty of walks, a local farm and play area, and a canal walk to be enchanted by. It has been another great family break and the ducks and swans made our short walks by the lake feel like an escape. Thank you. And I mustn't leave them out, the Restaurant is very popular, because the food is so good.

Great value for money, perfect location as all our day trips were either 20-30min drive in any direction. Wish we made more use of the on site facilities as they were second to none due to good weather we went off site all day, but on the one bad day we had we went swimming and to the gym and ate in the restaurant.
