Good location & site but this lodge has problems with the boiler. We had three days of the boiler not working (across our 7 day stay) which meant no hot water (including no shower/bath available). Contacted owner each time and someone came out each time while we were out (key kept in lock box outside) and did something to the boiler to get it going again. Unfortunately for us this meant that we returned each time to find hot water to only have it all go off again after a very short time. As having hot water available I consider to be a minimum requirement I do not think this to be acceptable. Also disappointed not to have had any form of apology for all of the inconvenience from the owner for these problems during our one week stay. I cannot recommend this lodge to anyone and suggest the boiler has a full service and/or replacement. It would also be worth replacing the microwave as it cannot be used as all writing on controls has rubbed off as it is so old/had so much use and there were no instructions to use it. Bedding needs to be thrown away and replaced with some that actually fits the beds as the sheets in particular are so small they do not stay on the beds. All such a shame as this is a nice site in a good location and at first glance the Kingfisher Lodge appears to be very good, but we soon found that it is in need of some updating/refurbishing and had a tired end of season feel.

We loved the site but found the Lodge disappointing. It had not been cleaned following the last let so we could not get in until 6.00pm. The boiler providing hot water was erratic and we had to wait in for a plumber on the first morning. It did not rectify the problem but we learnt how to manage it. The most upsetting thing was the cleanliness of the double bed - it was disgusting, smelling of urine. The mattress cover was stained and I had to be very creative to enable us to use the bed at all.
