Situated in the heart of the Cotswolds and in the market town of Winchcombe, this spacious, detached holiday property has a delightful riverbank setting and is perfect for larger families and groups and can accommodate some disabled visitors. Adjacent to the owner’s home, the property is only 250 yards from the town’s shops, restaurants and ancient inns, whilst a footpath leads across fields to the romantic Sudeley Castle, home of Henry VIII’s last wife, Katherine Parr, who is buried in the castle’s chapel. Today the castle and its gardens can be enjoyed, with a series of exhibitions including items from Elizabethan and Victorian times, and it hosts special events such as the Summer Magic Proms and Air Display. This is an ideal base for walkers, being at the intersection of many well known walks including the Cotswold Way, the Gloucestershire Way and the Wardens Way. Cheltenham, with its racecourse and award winning parks and gardens, is 7 miles away. Each year it has literature, science and jazz festivals – something to appeal to all family members. The beautiful village of Broadway, referred to as the ‘show piece of the Cotswolds’, is also just 7 miles distant. Broadway Tower, with its colourful history, is well worth a visit as are the shops, art galleries and fine restaurants. Medieval Tewkesbury, the vibrant and busy market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Oxford are all easily accessible. Shops and pub 250 yards.

We had a fantastic time at Kingfisher Cottage. The house is beautifully clean with a lovely open view from the conservatory that we could have looked at endlessly. Winchcombe is a fab village with a lot of interesting history, we had a great time exploring the village, walking up to Belas Knap, Sudeley Castle, Hailes Abbey, local tearooms and the tiny museum, riding on the steam name a few. The owners are great, very approachable and helpful. We've stayed at 3 different cottages in the Cotswolds and many more around the British Isles and I have to say this one was by far the best.

This was a perfect cottage for 3 generations of the same family with plenty of space. It was very well equipped and the owners (next door) were warm and friendly. It was clean and comfortable and we had a great time. The location was great - couldn't recommend it more highly.

We had a wonderful stay at Kingfisher Cottage. The location was perfect for all our day trips out, and also for access to the local village facilities, including the pubs, shops and restaurants. The cottage itself had everything you could possibly need and more. The facilities were amazing. Having the large conservatory was brilliant for our meals, pool games and card games. The kitchen had every utensil, pot and pans you could need. All the bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable. The communal areas including the lounge, kitchen, conservatory and garden were all perfect. Thank you also for the lovely biscuits, it was such a nice touch.Thank you for our wonderful holiday, we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and would love to return in the future.

Ideally located for walking and sightseeing in the Cotswolds. Winchcombe village has plenty to offer by way of pubs, restaurants, shops and antiques. The cottage was ideal for large parties (seven in ours), well equipped, clean and spacious. One couple did find the early morning traffic noise at the front a bit troublesome.

Just come back from a very relaxing and enjoyable week staying at The Kingfisher Cottage, Winchcombe in the Cotswolds. We stayed from the 8th to 15th August 2015. Spacious yet comfortable Kingfisher is well stocked with all the amenities you could hope for. The whole property is maintained to a high standard and the kitchen has all the utensils you would require. We particularly liked how the owners (who live next door|) left some tea, coffee, milk and biscuits provided for our arrival. A very nice touch and much appreciated. The garden is more than adequate and has plenty of chairs, recliners and benches to accommodate comfortably all ten people in our party. The weather was favourable (for the most part) during our stay and I managed to do two barbeques. I was most impressed with the BBQ and the again nice touch having proper utensils together with Charcoal, lighting fluid and fire lighters in supply. Beautiful little brook running at the bottom of the garden, very calming watching the fish and wildlife in the vicinity. Kingfisher has a marvellous path at the rear of the property which runs adjacent to The Brook and into Winchcombe itself. Took a couple of strolls along this path, most enjoyable viewing the countryside as well as other more wildlife and other properties in the area. Winchcombe itself is a delight to the eye with many curiosity shops, emporiums and of course lots of very nice public houses. Winchcombe is a brilliant location for a Cotswolds holiday. It’s big enough to have all the shops , pubs, food outlets and restaurants you need without feeling too big and overpowering. If you want a village setting without feeling isolated then this is the place for you. Kingfisher has an enormous conservatory which doubles as a large dinning area. We loved eating in here and it being able to have a good view of the garden and the countryside. The conservatory also has a full sized pool table which we made full use of. All ages and skill levels took part in our family tournaments, providing us with lots of entertainment. On the subject of entertainment there is plenty for you to do inside, with all manor of board games, books, leaflets and cards to keep you amused and interested. The Kingfisher living room is very homely, comfortable and inviting. First property I’ve stayed in that has Sky TV provided. The men in our party enjoyed the opening week of the football season enormously as a result. Not so sure the women did though! Living room has large wall mounted TV with a DVD player. Nicely furnished with nice night lighting. We all has a wonderful week in the Kingfisher Cottage, everyone unanimously gave this property a thumbs up. Even my hard to please 17 year old daughter said she could quite happily stay here again. If you are thinking of staying here I can enthusiastically and genuinely recommend this property to stay in.

We are a group of 6 artists from Leicestershire who stayed at the cottage for a week, mainly to paint and sketch the surrounding scenes, etc and would highly recommend the cottage - spacious, well equipped, beautiful gardens, great patio area to dine in, conservatory to paint in, spacious lounge to relax in, etc. We spent every evening, bar one, having dinner on the patio, to the sound of birds from the stream at the back of the garden. The garden was full of beautiful flowers to paint. The kitchen was so well equipped and taking turns cooking and eating in was a pleasure. There were beautiful sites to visit -viz Sudeley Castle, the villages nearby, like Stanton and houses like Sezincote/
