Panoramic views

Peacefully situated at the end of a country lane with far-reaching rural views, these former farm buildings have been skilfully converted, retaining many original beams, vaulted ceilings and exposed stone and brickwork. With underfloor heating at ground level the holiday cottages remain cosy all year round and each one enjoys its own sitting-out area complete with garden furniture and barbecue. From Flamborough Head and the Lighthouse there are panoramic views and cliff top walks, dropping down to the sand and chalk bay of South Landing and the dramatic inlet at North Landing. Fishing and pleasure craft can be seen, as well as the local lifeboat keeping the waters safe and keep your eyes peeled for seals bobbing about on the sea. The many caves along the rocky shore were a haven for smugglers of contraband. Flamborough village has a useful assortment of shops, takeaways and pubs serving local seafood specialities and a range of cask ales. The famous RSPB nesting bird colony at Bempton Cliffs is just 2½ miles away with unrivalled views of puffins, guillemots and kittiwakes. The traditional seaside resorts of Bridlington, 5 miles, Filey, 11 miles and Scarborough, 18 miles are easily accessible. Nearby Sewerby Hall has fine Georgian, Regency and Victorian rooms, a magnificent 19th century conservatory, beautiful gardens and houses the Museum of East Yorkshire. Golf available at Flamborough Head Golf Club and Bridlington Links, fishing and boat trips available locally. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

The cottage was excellent apart from a terrible draft from one of the windows and rain came in

The cottage was was of a good standard and the owner was very accommodating, pleasant and made us feel very welcome, the approach to the cottage was very muddy due to the inclement weather and could do with some gravel putting down as it was very difficult keeping ourselves and dogs mud free, other than that we had a great break and would definitely go again

The cottage is on a farm so you wake up to sheep bleating which i found lovely. There were cows & chickens too plus a goat that could get loose which was a bit scary. The beach in a short walk away but very steep to get to. The cottage is lovely but could do with the tv/free view being fixed as we kept losing sound/colour & the shower kept dripping but other than that it was fab. My sons absolutely loved it.

It is in a wonderful spot, with good walking, views etc. The village is an easy walk (about a mile). The owner is very helpful and friendly.

We had a lovely time staying at Kingfisher cottage. Cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped and was a fab base for exploring the area. We saw puffins aplenty 😀 Lighting in the house could be better, kitchen and bathroom in particular could be a bit dark.

Great location for walking along the coastline. Clean and bright. Spoilt by very noisy building contractors staying in the next cottage, who thought it was ok to drink, laugh and joke outside until all hours, the dog was going mad. Reported it to the owner.

We had a great weekend walking and sightseeing. It would have been more convenient if there had been a shop closer to the cottage instead of having to go into Flamborough but otherwise we were very happy with the location.

Had to pay £25 to take my pet but it was clear the farm owners would have preferred not to have pets around. Lots of "no fouling here" type notices, yet no designated dog waste bins. Lots of restrictions about movements of dogs within cottage. Felt dog was not really welcomed. There were rats or similar in the room and wall cavities on my last night in the cottage which obviously disturbed our sleep. Maybe not surprising around a working farm but equally something which could have been expected and therefore prevented.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are sorry you were unhappy about paying to bring your dog. Regarding our small signs on the fence along the driveway, we have to be very careful in this instance as we have had cattle deaths through them eating dog faeces. It is a working farm and care has to be taken regarding the animals on the farm. Regarding the disturbance on the last night, there have never been any instances of vermin in the cottages and the walls do not have cavities, they are all solid chalk stone walls. We suggest it may have been birds in the gutters that were heard as sound does travel. I am sorry you had this experience and we hope it does not deter you from booking holiday cottages again.
