We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at Ketview, it is well located in the centre of Whithorn and allows access to several unspoilt beaches (10 minutes by car). The flat’s living spaces are really generous and the living room has an open fire with fuel provided, which was really welcome after getting chilly on the beach. Being on the first floor they raise you above the high street, affording you some more privacy and reducing any noise from outside – not that this was an issue. The Kitchen is very well designed with everything you would need for extended stay and has a great view of the back garden – which is absolutely gorgeous. Parking is on-street but directly outside the front door and we could see our car from the living room window, which the unnecessarily paranoid side of me likes ☺ The bedroom is in the eaves and is well laid out, I’m six foot with fairly terrible coordination, but didn't bump my head once. You can use the living room as a second bedroom as one of the sofas converts in to a bed, but we had no need to do that. I had assumed, wrongly, that there would be somewhere nearby to buy a bucket and spade, but our hosts came to the rescue and loaned us a set during our stay. The best thing about Ketview was the welcome from the Strachan’s who telephoned us a few days before, ensured they were there to meet us and even provided some bath toys for our three-year old. We were also really touched with the additional extras they had left for us (bread, milk, bacon, eggs, butter and a bottle of wine). This was very generous given how reasonably priced it is to stay there. The Strachan’s were accessible and friendly when we needed them, but unfussy and let us get on with enjoying our stay, which we all did.

Best compliments for our host. Anne was very friendly and friendly. Everything was fresh, clean and supplied with flowers. A welcoming bottle of wine and the ingredients for the first breakfast were all provided for. We liked our stay very much.
