English Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Stunning sea or rural views can be admired from any window and the Cornish Coastal Path is accessible from the door.

Kestrels was originally a milking parlour dating back to the mid 1800s and is now a well presented, detached granite holiday cottage with sea views, in an exceptional setting amidst National Trust moorland, within approximately ½ mile of Cornish Coastal Path. This is a much loved location considered by some as the ‘wild’ part of Cornwall. Within easy reach of St Just, Zennor, St Ives and Penzance. Morvah is 1 mile, Pendeen with a well provisioned shop 2 miles, and the beautiful Portherras Cove is 1½ miles near the lighthouse. There are stunning sea or rural views from any window. The famous Gurnards Head gastro pub is 1 mile and Rosemergy Farm, offering Cornish cream teas in their lovely garden with sea views. Shop 2 miles.

Living/dining room with wood-burning stove. 3 steps to kitchen. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Separate toilet. First floor: Double bedroom with 5ft bed. Bedroom with zip and link twin beds (can be super kingsize on request).

A wonderful cottage with a magnificent view. Nicely decorated and comfortable. Everything we needed was there. There was a lot to see and to do in the area.

A beautiful cottage, lovingly furnished and offering every comfort. We loved the peaceful location and easy access to coast and moorland walks without the need for the car. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and added a personal touch to our stay that was above and beyond our usual experience. Highly recommended.

A beautiful cottage on the coast road north of Penzance; next to a few other houses but feels like you're in the middle of nowhere. Inside, the cottage is thoughtfully decorated, really comfortable and equipped with everything you could possibly need - a home from home. And the wood burning stove finishes it off making it incredibly cosy especially when there's a storm howling outside! Local pub, shop and fish & chip shop a short drive away and you can get on the coast path right by the cottage. A lovely cottage perfect for a quiet stay away from the busy touristy areas but still well located that you can easily explore all of South Cornwall. Highly recommended.

Fantastic break in a great location. I really can't think of anything negative to say about Kestrels. We very rarely go back to the same place twice. Kestrels will be an exception.

A very fantastic holiday in a beautiful house, in which there is nothing missing, in a great landscape. Absolutely recommendable.

A superbly equipped and comfortable property, in a beautiful and tranquil location. Our hosts greeted us with a hugely warm welcome plus nice touches, including cream tea, a bottle of wine and top tips on where to visit locally. Cliff-top walks and a sandy cove minutes from the door. And StIves & Penzance within easy reach by car or bus. We had a great family holiday. Thank you!

A great holiday cottage in a wonderful location. Our hosts were lovely and the cottage was well equipped. Close to doggy friendly beaches and some fabulous wild and rugged walks. This is the second time we have stayed at Kestrels and we will definitely return.

My husband and I stayed at the lovely cottage at the end of June 2017. We loved everything about the cottage and the area. The cottage has everything you need and is spotlessly tidy. Very comfy bed, good sized bath, kitchen etc and lovely views all around. It felt like a home away from home and was such a relief from the busyness of London. We have nothing bad to say about it and are pretty fussy. Morvah is so beautiful and this cottage is well placed to see the local area and st Ives or Penzance. There are some nice cafes and restaurants in the nearby towns and the owners gave us some really good recommendations. We will definitely be back. Thanks again !
