Description

Visit picturesque Yorkshire villages and unspoilt coves on the coast whilst staying at this spacious property.

Nestling in the tiny hamlet of Littlebeck, this beautiful holiday cottage is set within its own gardens. Wonderful little villages hiding away deep in the valleys of the North York Moors Park await discovery, with walkways and cycle tracks leading to many inns, tearooms and restaurants, where traditional Yorkshire cuisine is served by friendly locals. A step back in time can be taken by visiting quaint unspoilt smugglers’ coves such as Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay and Runswick - as well as the port of Whitby, with its colourful harbour (from where Captain James Cook set sail), old cobbled streets filled with antique and curio shops, and a 3-mile sandy beach. The ancient city of York is also just an hour’s drive. Shop 3 miles.

Large living room with electric fire. Large well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen/dining room with tiled floor. Utility. Study/playroom with laminate floor. Garden room. Shower room with toilet. An ideal spot for us. It is quiet and isolated but with easy access to Whitby and surrounds. We enjoy walking and there are various routes and types of walk to choose without having to travel significant distances.

Very good location and the 6 of us that stayed there had an amazing time! My only complaint would be about wifi. Not important for Internet at all but there was very limited signal so I would have preferred to be connected to some wifi to contact people back home. Other than that..superb stay and would definitely stay again!

We all enjoyed staying at Kelp House only minor issue was no small towel to go with bath towel.

The cottage was missing a working fire as the heating was set to a temperature and it was a very cold weekend we were there . The location is very remote and the roads are a tad narrow . The beds and pillows are hard but clean . The facilities are very good , plenty of hot water . The living room lacks soft lighting . All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return but in the warmer months .

Fantastic week away with kids and adults. Cottage was in perfect condition and a great base for exploring Yorkshire. A great walk right in front of the cottage taking you to a superb waterfall and a great cafe. Highly recommend.

A lovely cottage. Great position for travelling into Whitby and Scarborough. Beautiful views and very remote and secluded. Would definitely go again.

Lovely cottage, isolated in Littlebeck so car is essential as you cannot walk to any amenities. Great location for exploring the area but road to cottage is narrow but with little traffic.

Absolutely stunning cottage with beautiful views, came home most days to a peacock walking around the gardens. Our 3 children thought the gardens were amazing to play in and the 2 bathrooms were a bonus especially the power shower downstairs! Lovely family meals around the large table and early mornings gazing through the windows at a beautiful site before breakfast. We walked to falling Foss down the path, across the road from the cottage. We visited Scarborough, Sandsend, Pickering, Goathland and Whitby. Enjoyed lovely fish and chips, days at the beach surfing and building sandcastles and of course the children's favourite - crabbing! We had a fantastic day at Dalby Forest to use our bikes we brought and we enjoyed watching our daughter take part in Go Ape - which was a birthday treat! We had an adventure on the NYMR and had some lovely walks taking in the country air. We were all sad to have to pack to return home, wish we could have stayed for 2 weeks we really did not want to come home - Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your lovely holiday home, we have stayed in quite a few cottages in North Yorkshire over the last 3 years but by far Kelp House has been our favourite - Thank you again! By the way the sunshine really helped - we were very lucky as it was gorgeous everyday we we're here which made our stay an even better one - we have all gone home looking like we have been abroad xxx
