A very sweet cottage located in a beautiful location. The perfect place to get away from it all and unwind.

Directions need to be clearer, we followed our Sat Nav using a postcode given and we were nowhere near the cottage. Parking is not very easy at the cottage. The cottage itself was grubby and we felt that it could do with some TLC and redocorating especially in the downstairs rooms, the upstairs bedrooms were nice.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. Sorry you had difficulty in finding the cottage. Other guests have experienced problems when using Sat Nav; that is why clear instructions are given in the information packs. There is room for a car on the roadside alongside the cottage’s gable wall, so I am surprised by the comment as all you need to do is pull in and straighten up. There is a paved car space for a second car at the far end gable wall, which is bit awkward to use to use, but I manage to park a large estate car in it. No mention of the property was made during my courtesy telephone call, which is one of the reasons for the call. I will take on board the comments made about decorating the down stairs rooms - pleased that you liked the bedrooms. Prior to guests holidaying at Kate’s Cottage, I go through the cottage instructions and explain where the nearest shops and local attractions are located, so that guests realise that the cottage is in a rural setting and will need to drive to the shops.

Had to leave cottage early due to an unwanted animal above cookerhood in chimney not a pleasant experience and when spoke with owner she knew about it had happened previously for other holiday makers

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. The property was checked by a professional 2 days before the guests arrival for the bird but there was no sign of it. I did advise the guest this might occur and if there was an issue to call me and we would deal with it for her. Unfortunately this guest didn’t call until they had left the property, I did call her during her stay and she didn’t mention anything about the bird or that there was any issues. We are surprised by this review as it seems to contradict the positive comments left in our visitors book. We have now put something over the cowl to prevent birds getting in without blocking the ventilation. We are also organising for our handyman to do something more permanent in the future.
