Had a great weekend at this cottage, would definitely recommend. Great location with the pub next door! Cottage is dog friendly which was a real bonus and lovely walks at Sherwood Forest and clumber park. Will definitely return

This is a delightful cottage, very comfortable and welcoming. We felt very at home here. It's bigger than you might expect, and would definitely be fine for a family with 3 youngish children. We particularly liked all the separate rooms. On a wet day, you could stay at home and have different people doing different activities in each place - especially as a variety of board games are provided. The two little ante-rooms downstairs would delight small children and provide convenient space for coats, shoes, rucksacks etc. The pub next door (noise is NOT a problem) serves good and very reasonably-priced food, and the Post Office and general stores is only a short walk. We had a fabulous walk from the door through woods carpeted with wood anemones, celandines and the first bluebells. Fantastic to have laminated OS maps in the cottage. Ideal location for visiting Hardwick Hall, Clumber Park, Bolsover Castle, Creswell Crags and others.

We had a great holiday, lots of walking in a lovely area. The cottage was lovely, and there were great treats left for us; ie chocolates and a bottle of wine, and fresh milk.

Lovely cottage and setting. Only fault was that there was no heating in the kitchen and unfortunately we had a weekend where the weather was really cold, otherwise, we would definitely consider booking again.

Lovely well restored cottage, but steep, narrow tread stairs, with a 90 degree turn. Great area to explore, two pubs in walking distance both serve food. Good dog walks from door step. Electric radiators, not great. Lovely enclosed garden great for our dogs. Dog towels were provided by owner which was nice. Parking was on the road might not be easy in summer with busy pub.

The cottage is very welcoming and homely and suited us and our two dogs perfectly. We were able to get several family members together for a Christmas meal at the pub next door which worked well, and we hope to do this again next year. A lot of thought had gone into ensuring guests had everything to hand and the little touches were appreciated. We'd definitely recommend.

A delightful, cosy and comfy cottage with many thoughtful touches, even towels for the dogs. We spent a very relaxing week there and have already recommended the cottage to friends.

We stayed Monday - Friday, but were given the opportunity to arrive a night earlier as the cottage was ready and available, which we thought was a nice touch. The cottage is a goodbsize inside and is very wellnsound proofed inside. Which was good as our dogs can be likely to bark at anything in a strange.location. There was a fire burner and initial wood, plus tea, coffee, crisps, some chocolate, biscuits, milk AND. a bottle of wine which we also thouht was.a.nice touch. Garden is massive and enclosed, although very small.dogs might be able to get under one of the gates, we have a shi tzu and she didn't but probably could have if she had been inclined to try. Kitchen was well.equiped with sauces etc available. Three good bedrooms and a reasonably sized bathroom. Shower wasn't the most powerful, but got thr job done. There are wall.heaters in each room which warm the cottage up quickly, as does the wood burner (could have done with an axe as some.of our wood was a bit too big, though i'm sure if we had asked, one would have been found for us ! We liked the little 'extras' such as shampoo, which has probably been left by previous guests but useful if you forget to bring initial supplies. We didn't meet the owners. Which wasn't a problem for us, I might be wrong but they may have been connected to the pub which was directly next door. The pub allows dogs and does reasonally priced food. The drinks however, were either quite expensive, or we might have been shortchanged on one occasion. We.were able to park directly outside, but if you go out for the day and arrive back between 5 and 7, there may be no spCes to park, so it's off to the car park by the pub you will have to go. We enjoyed our stay, although the general area was.a little too quiet for us, but the cottage is lovely. And on a final note, i recieved a text the day after we got home to say we had left some chargers and tops (no idea how we managed that!) behind, Jayne the owner said she would pop them in the post and send them back to is, which was a pleasant suprise. For that alone it's worth recomending as I'm sure not every owner would.do that.

Had a lovely short break here in October. Great cottage, felt like a home rather than a rental property. Very well equipped with all you could need. Very spacious and comfortable. Lots of nice touches like towels and throws for dog use and a very nice welcome pack, much appreciated. Loved the log burner and my husband loved the 14 steps to the pub next door! Ideal location for Clumber Park & Sherwood Forest.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It's obviously very well kept. The big bonus for this cottage is that it's joined on to the local village pub which served very good quality pub grub. The cottage owners provided a hospitality basket with some snacks, a bottle of wine and tea coffee etc which was greatly received. There was all manor of toiletries to use if you'd forgotten something. The location is great if you don't want to use your car. There is a good local bus service and you're only a few minutes walk from the train station. If I wanted to visit this area again I would choose this cottage for our return visit.
