We stayed Monday - Friday, but were given the opportunity to arrive a night earlier as the cottage was ready and available, which we thought was a nice touch. The cottage is a goodbsize inside and is very wellnsound proofed inside. Which was good as our dogs can be likely to bark at anything in a strange.location. There was a fire burner and initial wood, plus tea, coffee, crisps, some chocolate, biscuits, milk AND. a bottle of wine which we also thouht was.a.nice touch. Garden is massive and enclosed, although very small.dogs might be able to get under one of the gates, we have a shi tzu and she didn't but probably could have if she had been inclined to try. Kitchen was well.equiped with sauces etc available. Three good bedrooms and a reasonably sized bathroom. Shower wasn't the most powerful, but got thr job done. There are wall.heaters in each room which warm the cottage up quickly, as does the wood burner (could have done with an axe as some.of our wood was a bit too big, though i'm sure if we had asked, one would have been found for us ! We liked the little 'extras' such as shampoo, which has probably been left by previous guests but useful if you forget to bring initial supplies. We didn't meet the owners. Which wasn't a problem for us, I might be wrong but they may have been connected to the pub which was directly next door. The pub allows dogs and does reasonally priced food. The drinks however, were either quite expensive, or we might have been shortchanged on one occasion. We.were able to park directly outside, but if you go out for the day and arrive back between 5 and 7, there may be no spCes to park, so it's off to the car park by the pub you will have to go. We enjoyed our stay, although the general area was.a little too quiet for us, but the cottage is lovely. And on a final note, i recieved a text the day after we got home to say we had left some chargers and tops (no idea how we managed that!) behind, Jayne the owner said she would pop them in the post and send them back to is, which was a pleasant suprise. For that alone it's worth recomending as I'm sure not every owner would.do that.

Had a lovely short break here in October. Great cottage, felt like a home rather than a rental property. Very well equipped with all you could need. Very spacious and comfortable. Lots of nice touches like towels and throws for dog use and a very nice welcome pack, much appreciated. Loved the log burner and my husband loved the 14 steps to the pub next door! Ideal location for Clumber Park & Sherwood Forest.

Brilliant cottage and surroundings. Visited lots of places. Pub next door providing lovely meals. Cosy and homely. All three of us were extremely impressed. Will definitely visit again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It's obviously very well kept. The big bonus for this cottage is that it's joined on to the local village pub which served very good quality pub grub. The cottage owners provided a hospitality basket with some snacks, a bottle of wine and tea coffee etc which was greatly received. There was all manor of toiletries to use if you'd forgotten something. The location is great if you don't want to use your car. There is a good local bus service and you're only a few minutes walk from the train station. If I wanted to visit this area again I would choose this cottage for our return visit.

A very comfortable cottage and extremely dog friendly. Suitable for all ages although care needs to be taken on the stairs. We found that the pub next door added to our enjoyment. We left our phone charger at the cottage when we returned home, however this was kindly returned to us in a matter of a few days by the owners.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage, and have already booked again for next year. It is very well equipped, the garden and patio area are great, the lockable out-building is ideal for the bike. The pub next door served lovely food and even let us have a meal to take away and eat in the cottage. The location is great and not far from Sherwood Pines, we spent quite a bit of time there mountain biking and walking the dogs. A lovely cottage to come home to at the end of the day.

The cottage was very easy to find being next door to the pub with ample parking outside. The rooms are spacious and very clean with bedding and towels provided. There was a lovely welcome pack which included tea, coffee and nibbles plus a much needed bottle of wine! it proved to be a great base to get to Nottingham, Alton Towers and much more. Overall a very nice place to stay and despite being nice door to the pub, very quiet.

A great place for the family to stay, very well equipped and all the small details thought of. A lovely welcome pack on arrival and the owners had gone over and above to meet our needs. A perfect cottage which was very clean and in a good location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. There was a lovely welcome pack for us provided by our hosts. The cottage itself was lovely and clean, everything we could have wanted was available. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were plenty of towels. The garden was very well kept and enclosed enough for our dogs to run around. We found a few nice walks around the cottage area and the location was pretty well centred for visiting local attractions. The nearest shop was the Premier shop just up the road, this provided most of what we needed. We enjoyed our stay at this cottage and would definitely recommend it.

Lovely cottage, many 'extra touches' (beverages, milk, biscuits and even wine!) which were very much appreciated, thank you. Quiet location despite being next door to busy pub, well placed for visiting places of interest. Very clean and comfortably furnished. Nice patio which we would have used weather permitting.
