I can honestly say that this is the worst cottage I have ever stayed in. It wasn't ready on time and the owner wanted to finish watching football on tv and suggested we may like to take a walk on the beach after we had been travelling for 5 hours. The cottage was dirty and the furnishings were sparse and similar to utility furniture.

The cottage needs to be upgraded and giving more loving attention. There were no curtains on the bedrooms windows which made sleeping difficult because of the early morning light coming in. It was cold, damp and musty. Everything was very sparse. We were surprised that we had to pay extra for electricity. The shower was weak and inadequate.Nothing left in the cupboards which is unusual. No tea bags , coffee, oil, salt, pepper etc.,, nothing to welcome you.

Johannah's Cottage gives you the chance to fully immerse yourself in the culture of Kerry. You are living on a working sheep farm, you have a peat burner, the incredible view and access to the ring and beach. Michael the owner knows more about the local area than any of the brochures so talking to him about your itinerary is a must as he will suggest routes and things you would not have thought of. You can't beat local knowledge. The Blind Piper is 3 minute drive and is as good a pub as you could ever want and is usually full of locals rather than tourists and there is music played there every week. We will be returning next year!

tried contacting the phone number that we were given but no reply eventually got through and were told that we couldn't get into the cottage until 3pm when we arrived at 3pm we were told it hadn't been cleaned after the previous occupants we had to wait until 5pm before we could get in we waited outside the property for that time . The previous occupants had a dog and hadn't cleaned up after it so there was dog poo all around the grounds surrounding the cottage
