Superb views

These 4 quality and characterful barn conversions are set in striking ’White Peak’ scenery and each enjoys one of the most breathtaking views in the Peak Park, across to the jagged and dramatic Chrome and Parkhouse hills. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed in the area. The pretty market towns of Buxton, 4 miles, and Bakewell, 12 miles, and the village of Hartington, 5 miles, are an easy drive from the properties. Climbing at the Roaches and Froggatt, the caves at Castleton, Chatsworth House and Alton Towers theme park are all under a 30-minute drive away. Three of the properties (refs 10847, 10848 and 10849) are single-storey and suited to partially disabled guests. Harebell Hill (ref 10848) has its own garden with chairs and has 4 steps to the front door, with Poppies Court (ref 10847) having two steps. Their creative conversions have given the properties individual charm, with old stone arches, high vaulted ceilings and original beams. Jerusalem Cottage (ref 9603), 120 yards across the road from the other properties, is a 4 level conversion which features a galleried bedroom, split-level living room and kitchen, with its own washer/dryer and dishwasher. Jersuslaem Cottage has its own garden with lawn, patio and bench. The other three properties have shared washing facilities, complete with washing machine and tumble dryer. Shop 2 miles, pub ½ mile.

4 steps and level access to entrance from rear garden. All on first floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen with beams and arrowslit windows. 3 bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite bathroom and toilet, 2 twin. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Shared utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Fridge/freezer. Lawned garden and chairs.

Lovely location - up quite high and great views. A lot of interesting things and places to see nearby, good walks, (flatish along disused railway lines or more challenging hills), historic sites and NT properties to visit, cycle hire, nice tea rooms and pubs - we did it all!

We absolutely loved it! Opening those flowery curtains to the most amazing view, then popping on our boots and walking up those crags, finished off with a pint in the 'throwback to the seventies' pub, was blissful. Mr and Mrs H were very helpful over a mixed up booking and there were so many thoughtful touches, the chocolate biscuits, fresh flowers, toiletries , that we felt very welcome. The setting is incredible , with views all around, and within easy reach of places to visit too. And if the cosy cottage feels like visiting your favourite aunt, well, you love that favourite aunt don't you? And she certainly makes you welcome. We'll return.

All enjoyed visit and would come again. We were only 4 people and imagine it might be a little tight with6.

Cottage is small and, with furniture for six, cluttered. Quite a few cobwebs.

This is the first time self catering in the peak district and this accommodation provided everything we needed. Catered for our age range of 1-70. We would certainly recommend this property to others and are planning to return there next year.

beautifully clean and presented and very attentive owner. all very comfortable. the only downside was that we could not see the beautiful views whilst sitting in the living room (only when standing)

Party of 3. Cottage sleeps 6 but would have been cramped in the lounge/dining area for 6. Nice, clean, tidy and great location. Really glad we stayed there and would again.
