Wales Cottages

The Wales Regional Specialist -Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Wales better!

Description

Idyllic, romantic country retreat for couples, with slate floors, beams and river flowing through the garden, Snowdonia easily reached.

Nestled in the secluded valley of the Dulas, with the sounds of the river flowing through the two acre garden, peace and tranquillity are real features here. Slate floors, exposed beams and thick stone walls all add to the character and make for a romantic holiday hideaway. Jasmine Cottage forms part of a traditional Welsh Chapel, dating from 1825. The owners live in the upper part of the chapel. Adjoining the property on the opposite bank of the river are oak woods scheduled as a SSSI, with paths that lead past a picturesque gorge with waterfalls and then on to the villages of Aberllefenni and Corris. It is ideal walking country, with easy reach of Snowdonia. Within half an hour’s drive are beaches at Ynyslas and Aberdovey. Closer still are the nature reserves at Ynys Hir (RSPB), Cors Dyfi (Osprey Project). The market town of Machynlleth and the Museum of Modern Art - Wales are worth exploring, as is the Centre for Alternative Technology just down the valley at Pantperthog. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
Jasmine Cottage can be booked together with Honeysuckle Cottage (26471) to accommodate up to 4 guests.

Sofa was uncomfortable. Very little natural light in the property: it was gloomy and airless. It was however super clean, very tastefully done out and located in very pretty idyllic surroundings, but it was not somewhere I felt l wanted to spend any time in. Happily the weather was great so I could get out and about and didn't need to spend time at the property, except overnight. The owners provided a welcome pack including home made shortbread and a loaf of bread which was very nice. I think the property details should specify that the owners who live on site have a large and very friendly dog- in case you are a visitor who isn't keen on dogs and doesn't want to find one inside your cottage if you leave the door open. There was also a humidifier running in the sitting room- which could be switched off- but not ideal.

Local amenities was the only low score as there isn't any but that was the point. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location, perfect base for our walking weekend.

Just loved it here. It was the perfect place for a pre Christmas chill time. Loved the log burner. The bed was super comfy and the Christmas decorations were a lovely touch. The owners were fab hosts. Thank-you so much.

Lovely location and beautiful little cottage .. Owners very friendly and we were greeted with homemade shortbread and some milk and eggs in the fridge and a loaf of bread which was much appreciated . The cottage was lovely and peaceful with lots of lovely long walks to go with our dogs . Will definitely be returning

Capel Bethesda was a delightful cottage, located ideally for lots of local walks. It is roughly 1 hour 20 minutes from Snowdon or Betws-Y-Coed. It was truly magical waking up to hear the river at the bottom of the garden and look out the window at the local hills.
