This seaside resort with a sheltered cove is on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, stretching down to the seashore where there is a sand and shingle beach and a small harbour. Explore the South West Coastal Path, or visit Watermouth Castle and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. The Victorian seaside resort of Ilfracombe, Clovelly, Chambercombe Manor, Lynton and Lynmouth all within easy reach. Shop 100 yards, pubs 200 yards.

    Jacks Cottage was sadly in need of some TLC, as was much of Coome Martin. Like many others have stated the cottage smells heavily of damp, I think largely due to the kitchen extension, and possibly due to the fact there is a water course running through the village to the sea close by. The cottage is old and this is understandable, but still not pleasant. The cottage is in need of some decorative updates, it just didn't suit our style. However the en-suite bathroom in the main bedroom was warm and clean with a new electric shower. The general overall feel was mismatched like the owners had put all their spare bits and bobs into the cottage.

    Initial good impressions from outside quickly disappeared when we entered and found a strong smell of damp. The fridge was not switched on and required wiping out before use, no hot water and no information on where to find switch. Counter top freezer which was not switched on had a note asking not to switch on if not going to use also obstructed the cupboard containing the fuse panel. Some of the utensils and equipment were poor quality and others missing (ie no grill pan). Lounge furniture and carpets were grubby and bedroom furniture was rickety. For the cost we had expected a higher level of finish and equipment including Wi-fi. The general feeling of the cottage was very tired and worn.

    Shop located practically at the end of the Garden, two Pubs, Chip Shop , Cafe and Beach in walking distance. Very comfortable beds, the garden is unfortunately very overlooked but I believe this is due to Trees needing to be removed. Bedroom's and bathrooms needed a little TLC, especially with the Window coverings as the curtains and Blinds where ether broken or poor fitting, the kitchen could do with a new microwave but other wise it had everything you needed. The owner is lovely, friendly and very helpfull. Many people return time and time again and we can see why, but it just needs a little TLC.

    Cottage situated in the middle of two roads. Garden in the middle of road. No privacy, photos are very misleading. The beach is walking distance, and shops literally by your garden! A large garage/workshop is right next door, which is your view. We were very disappointed with the location

    Location was very good, very disappointed that previous reviews show maintenance issues. The issues with the maintenance are still there. I feel this property could be so much better if the owner maintained the property the way it should be, the water pressure and temperature is a big issue also.
