Close to the sea

This delightful holiday property with sea views, is set in the sleepy seaside village of Ferryside. Traditionally presented, Ivy Cottage has large proportions and is set in its own large enclosed garden. It is uniquely positioned less than a few minutes walk to the seafront. It is an ideal family location and a delight for children as the railway runs quietly through the centre of the village, also providing ideal links to Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire. Ferryside is an almost undiscovered part of the Carmarthenshire coastline and benefits from all the peace and tranquillity. Guests can take advantage of a spa complex, located only 150 yards from the cottage which offers a large indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room and games room (at cost). Ffos Las Racecourse is 7 miles (15-minute drive). Horse riding nearby. Ideal for golf. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 150 yards.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room with tiled floor/kitchen. Separate toilet. Steep, Dutch paddle staircase to first floor: 4 bedrooms: 2 double (one 5ft), 1 twin, 1 single. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Lovely house and idyllic located. The house is very homely, easy to relax in and very comfortable. Would highly recommend and stay again.

We had a really lovely time in this fantastically cosy, characterful cottage. The location is absolutely great if you've got kids and dogs, the beach is a two mins walk away and my 7 and 5 year olds spent hours just looking in rock pools and running around down there. Its also a great base to explore nearby Llanelli and Carmarthen, both lovely towns with lots going on. We also loved the garden centre in Kidwelly - great cafe and amazing free playground. The house itself was fabulously toasty, well equipped kitchen although the temperemental oven drove us crazy at first! Its a great base and lots of room for big family meals (we were 7) and games etc. Really recommend it, we'd love to go back!

Sorry but this place was awful for the price paid.

holiday cottage was fantastic more than enough room for a party of 7. The only downside was no mobile phone reception, which was not a bad thing as you were truly away from it all. The other drawback was the stairs which took some getting used to. One of the children did fall down the stairs but this was partly her own fault as she was trying to play on her tablet at the same time as walking down the stairs.

Noisy train at night in the village, tired cottage in need of maintenance, hotel nearby was a joke with a viscous dog and very run down, the other restaurant in village was never open

We had a lovely short break at Ivy Cottage. The cottage had absolutely everything you could need - very well equipped kitchen. Superb heating system, so the cottage could be as toasty as you wished. Location wise - only a few minutes stroll from the beach and the train track (whilst very close by) did NOT have a regular train service and therefore, did not affect the location at all - you can see the sea from the main bedroom window which was a treat. The stairs are very quirky and this did prove a problem for our elderly mother who was holidaying with us - they were steeper than we thought. That being said, our 12 and 11 year old children LOVED them. All in all - a very good holiday cottage for the price, as long as you are nimble regarding the stairs.
