We have stayed at Island View on three previous occasions, we love it! Despite being compact it has everything we need and nothing can beat the view from the balcony. We will be back again I'm sure.

Island view was the perfect location with a stunning balcony giving an unrivalled view over the water. I specially commend the excellent shower, a rare luxury in the Highlands! I only missed having a hair dryer, and expect the fireplace to be in working order next time. I would happily have stayed on for a further week.

There was development going on next door. The builder complained about smoke intrusion into his property from the open fire. I entered next door and it was full of smoke. Contacted the owner of Island view and he told me it was next doors problem. Totally unacceptable. Didn't use the fire again for obvious reasons. The property would benefit from double glazing at the front.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. As owners we have carried out extensive safety checks to ensure the safety of Island View. We have discovered that the adjoining property has an open 8 inch chimney which has no downdraft protection. Nevertheless we are currently taking advice on how we can alter our vent to alleviate our neighbours problem.

For anyone wanting a peaceful stay with lovely places to walk, breathe taking views, wildlife to observe, boats to sail, interesting local history and a super pub next door but two, go to Island View. With a view like this who would want to move far. Would not advise a place for young children to holiday,

Island View cottage has the "wow" factor. The view is superb and sitting out on the balcony(which has the sun on it for most of the day) for meals is heavenly. There are plenty of walks from the village or a short drive away and the pub near by offers a friendly welcome as do all the locals, with good food and local beers and allows dogs in the bar area and beer garden. Plenty of wildlife to be seen from the cottage and sea trips run from the harbour which is worth going on,Sea Eagles, seals,Red deer,Puffins etc. We also went on the ferry to the Isle of Mull and had the thrill of seeing a school of dolphins swimming alongside the ferry. We can highly recommend Island View for a holiday,it was a great find and I'd be amazed if anyone could find fault with it.

We had a fantastic stay in the cottage. We were very lucky with the weather so made a lot of use of the amazing deck area. Very cosy cottage with possibly the best shower we've ever used! The only minor quibble was that the cleanliness could have been better on arrival, but that was the only thing that let it down. Fantastic location and value for money. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you for an amazing stay.
