Description

This boathouse is an ideal romantic break for 2 in an idyllic setting with views up and down the lake.

This architect-designed boathouse enjoys a beautifully quiet location on the banks of Rudyard Lake. Set on arguably the best spot, it has stunning views up and down the lake. From the first floor balcony of the boathouse, visitors can take it all in and, on a still day, observe the surrounding lush woodland’s inverted reflection in the lake with all its colour, like in a mirror. Rudyard Lake is abundant in wildlife and offers various activities including birdwatching, fishing, sailing, canoeing, walking and cycling. Hire boats available on the lake. Rudyard Lake is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park in the Staffordshire moorlands and is surrounded by blanket tree preservation order. Other places of interest within easy driving distance include the market town of Leek, Macclesfield, The Potteries, Biddulph Grange, Buxton, Tittesworth Reservoir and The Roaches. Shop and restaurant 3 miles, pub 2½ miles.

Access via first floor: Open-plan living room/kitchen with breakfast bar. Steep stairs to ground floor: Double bedroom with 5ft bed, TV and en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

Have stayed here in the summer with husband and our two huskies so decided to have a full week end Dec and again it was beautiful ,peaceful , and muddy ! I ran out of towels and fleeces as each walk the dogs were muddy up to their tummies and they are big dogs ! The Boathouse was cosy , lovely and warm , and very relaxing but due to the weather the mud drove me mad so next time will be in dryer weather hopefully ! Also one of the huskies escaped at the side of the shed through next doors derelict fencing and that was quite traumatic as Rudyard is such a big place but he came hobbling back on his own accord ( arthritic) however from then on and this was day 2 , I had to keep him on lead tied up as the garden didn’t feel secure anymore which was a shame as that’s part of the attraction ! Otherwise a lovely break in a beautiful Boathouse

+ Clean, comfortable, good views, walks from the door. - Need to use the car for shops/pubs. Would love to stay again, but it's quite an expensive property.

Inglenook Boathouse is warm, welcoming, comfortable, well equipped and beautifully designed with views of wonderful Rudyard Lake from every window. We really can’t fault it and can’t wait to go back for the third time. There is so much to do in the area, beautiful scenery and good eating places, but really we don’t feel the need to go far, walking round the lake and being in Inglenook Boathouse is such a delight.

This was our umpteenth stay at the boathouse as we keep returning year after year because we love it so much. Our two chocolate Labradors love it too, not least because of the easy access to the lake for swimming. It is perfectly situated for peace and tranquility and you can do as little or as much as you want. We feel completely relaxed every time we walk in the door and I'm sure we'll be back again next year!
