Yorkshire Cottages

The Yorkshire Regional Specialist -Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Yorkshire better!

This characterful farmhouse is beautifully presented to meet the needs of all the family, and enjoys a picture perfect setting

Located within the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, just outside the picturesque village of Garsdale is Ing Heads. This traditional stone farmhouse has been lovingly restored and oozes charm and character. The barn adjoining the house offers accommodation for less able guests, or would make a perfect family suite. There is a double bed, and a 4ft sofa bed for your convenience. The adjoining wet room has wide door access suitable for wheelchairs. To the first floor of the barn is a magnificent games room with a pool table, table top football and original Juke Box which is in complete working order. There is a large corner sofa bed in the games room, together with an adjoining shower room, meaning that it could easily double as a fourth bedroom, and would be ideal for teenagers/young adults who may enjoy their own space.
The main farmhouse offers two further spacious bedrooms, the master suite boasting its own en suite bathroom with luxurious spa bath, and the addition of a sofa bed, ideal as a  family suite, and certainly large enough to house any family!!
The farmhouse style breakfast kitchen is well equipped with an electric Aga, Belfast sink and a good range of crockery and utensils. The dining room is large enough to accommodate any grand banquet, and the lounge offers a large multi fuel stove, ideal for keeping off the chill during those cooler winter months, a telephone with honesty box, a limited broadband package available for your use (broadband suitable for research only, no downloads please), and TV with Sky sports package.
The farmhouse is approached down a private drive and there is adequate parking for several cars and a beck runs alongside the garden as it makes its way down into a small river along the front of the house. This farmhouse comes with fishing rights which guests are welcome to take advantage of. A BBQ has been built overlooking the river, and to the rear of the property is a hot tub, conveniently located beside a patio door for easy access. The terraced cottage garden rises steeply to the rear and a set of stone steps allow access to a seating area with wonderful views at the top of the garden.

Family break-Ings Head enjoyed by all of us-very peaceful location to get away from it all. Kids enjoyed the games room and garden esp hot tub! We enjoyed exploring nearby places of interest and well situated to get further into the Lakes for the day. Moorcock Inn very nice and just up the road.

Fantastic scenery, rural quiet location, lovely cottage, great having games room and hot tub as no amenities within walking distance, fully equipped cottage. Downside was lots of midge bites, hot water ran out in mornings but there was 9 of us having showers. Lots of head bumps on low stone beams.

A perfect peaceful holiday home, where you can get away from it all and relax in the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. There were 11 of us in total (including 3 children and a teen) and the cottage was big enough for all of us, the many toilets and showers being a real plus. The kitchen had plenty of equipment and cutlery for us all but the aga did take some getting used to (it was adequate for us, just needed some planning and a little extra time adding to cooking times). The extra large fridge freezer was great, especially since we had an Asda order delivered (local shops being quite a drive away). All the bedrooms were cosy and comfortable and there was plenty of bedding (although the majority of this was stored in the downstairs bedroom wardrobe, not leaving much room to unpack and put away clothes in this room). The games room upstairs was a nice space for relaxing or to have a game of pool, the children (and some adults) liked to take their toys and books up there to chill out. The living and dining rooms were cosy and full of character, it was nice to light the fire at night. Out the front there is a nice lawn where the children could let off steam and run around and play (adult supervision required as this has a steep slope leading to the stream), and there is a small lawn out the back, big enough to sit out on picnic blankets, watching the others in the hot tub. The view from the bench up the steep steps at the top of the garden is stunning, where you can hear and see the sheep, pheasants and a variety of birds. While there we visited Sizergh Castle (National Trust), Windermere where we went on a boat cruise, Hawes and the Ingleton Waterfalls trail. We also had a lovely meal out at Simonstone Hall, Hawes (for a celebration), which was pricey but the food was lovely. During our stay we did encounter the low water tank alarm, but after a quick call to the owner, this was dealt with very quickly and the reason being, the weather was so good that the stream was unusually low.

Just Amazing. We had difficulty finding it on a dark winters night - but it was well worth it. Cooking on the aga was a bit of an experience. The games room was a big hit.
