Great house in a great location. Ideal for exploring the Eden valley and surrounding area. Great for cyclists too.

The house was nice, pretty much as expected, though it was odd to not have a back door or a rear view from the living room. The garden was small and hard to access without cutting back some of the plants that prevented access to the steps. It was private and quiet though and nice to sit out in. Anyone with mobility issues would be unable to use it. As others have said, the double mattress is soft and bouncy and probably needs replacing. We both had back twinges each morning but nothing serious. If you have a back problem then the bed is not for you. The bedrooms were bigger than expected and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely. The living room was very bright and spacious and though the kitchen was smaller than expected from the photos it was well equipped and well thought out. The village is nice and both pubs are good, though the crown was more welcoming and the meal we had there was excellent. The shop is well stocked and there are nice walks along the beck from within the village We walked to lazonby to catch the train one day which was easy even though there is no footpath. The midland hotel in lazonby is average at best and the joiners arms was never open. The coop there is big and well stocked All in all a nice week and we would probably visit the area again once we have seen other places on our must-visit list

Beautiful cottage, lovely location, scrupulously clean and very comfortable. Would look to book here again when visiting area next time. Good access to local places of interest. Such a relaxing place to stay, loved the 'upside down' layout, gives a pleasant view from lounge.

This was a lovely cottage to stay at. The village was lovely and we used the village shop every day for basics. It was very close to all the local towns and cities and was easy to get to. We would recommend this cottage to others and would happily stay there again.
