This barn conversion sits in 3 acres and commands great views over the surrounding countryside of Hampshire.

This magnificent, 4000-square foot, detached barn conversion sits in 3 acres and commands great views over the surrounding countryside. The very large open-plan living space is the heart of the property and is a great place for families and friends to gather together, whether for a family holiday or a special occasion. This stylish holiday home has been finished to a very good standard, with features and attention to detail abound throughout, offering both endless space and comfort with green oak beams which frame the large windows, creating a light airy feel. The kitchen is large and well-equipped, perfect for an evening meal around the table with loved ones, complimented by extensive views over lush pastures.
Hampshire could be called the birthplace of England, with a beautiful landscape encompassing seaside resorts, chalk downs, open pasture and deep woodland, not to mention the birthplace of the armed forces. You can explore the region’s influence on English culture and industry through the history of Austen, Dickens and Brunel - three of Hampshire’s most famous former residents. Alternatively, appreciate the land itself as Hyde Barn sits on the edge of the New Forest National Park, where you can see the free-roaming ponies, donkeys and cattle and enjoy off-road walking, riding and cycling. Enjoy the perfect balance between a secluded break and easy access to all the local attractions and amenities, as the quaint market town of Fordingbridge is close by with its famous stone bridge and fine arches, plenty of shops, pubs, a café and riverside location to enjoy. The coastline with its Blue Flag beaches at Bournemouth and Poole is within easy reach, as is the city of Salisbury with its medieval cathedral. There are many places of interest for the family to visit, including Marwell Zoological Park, New Forest Otter and Owl Wildlife Park or a day out at Beaulieu Motor Museum to name but a few places of interest nearby. Further afield, but worth the trip are Monkey World and the Tank Museum near Wool, Southampton with its maritime history and West Quay shopping centre. There is much to visit further afield, in particular the unspoilt countryside of Dorset, famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast from West Bay, Bridport and on to Weymouth with its superb scenery and coastal walking. Spend a day at Lyme Regis with its harbour, renowned Cobb, beach and shops and enjoy fossil hunting, boating, swimming and fishing. There are many historic houses to visit in particular Forde Abbey and Gardens, or family attractions such as Pecorama, the quarries at Beer, or inland at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton which is an adventure in itself. Shop 1 mile, pub 1/4 mile.

We had a super stay at Hyde Barn, the property was as described and just right for a group of old friends sharing a celebratory event. Excellent local pubs within 10 and 20 minutes walk and superb restaurant just 10minutes walk also. fabulous food also available 15 minutes walk away at Hyde Farm Cafe. ponies, donkeys and cows on the doorstep to keep old and young amused and a great place to stay and enjoy the New Forest.

Lovely stay in great facilities. However thr bedroom layout is not ideal with lots of large rooms with multiple beds rather than smaller rooms to sleep fewer. We ended up having to share a bedroom with our 2 daughters, not ideal in such a spacious barn.

We had an amazing stay at Hyde Barn. There were 10 adults and 5 toddlers and we had tons of room. The bedrooms were beautiful especially the 2 large ones. There were enough bathrooms for us. Everything was good quality and very clean. The location is fab - only 15-20 min drive from long down activity farm (where our toddlers held baby chicks; stroked bunnies; fed baby lambs) and moors valley country park where we did a mile long activity trail and rode on an amazing miniature steam train. The living area in the barn was huge so the toddlers could happily toddle around whilst the adults cooked/chatted/drank wine! The dinner table is massive so we all ate family meals together. The comfy sofas accommodated all of us so we could spend the evenings chatting after the little ones had gone to bed. The kitchen is very well equipped and had everything we needed. Only very small things - the barn needs sharper knives for cooking (even after using the knife sharpener). Plus the wifi needs to be much stronger and faster (although was refreshing to be without such a thing!). If planning a visit bear in mind there are two huge rooms and 3 smaller ones so we drew lots to see who got what!! But all rooms are very lovely. Also plenty of parking for 5 cars. And there's a BBQ so we had that one night whilst the sun set, watching the wild horses in the field next door. Idyllic! There were two stair gates which was great so we fit them on the main stair case. We are hoping to return again as we had such a brilliant time there!

The Barn itself has been well built and fitted, with some lovely features. We were greeted with flowers and chocolate cake which was excellent. However the lack of maintenance and cleanliness really detracts from the enjoyment of the holiday. On entry to the property you are met with a fence that is falling down! The rear and side lawns were not cut and there was some rubbish around. The long grass prevented the grand children using the garden very much. Inside the bathroom mirrors and fixings were very dirty, the floors under furniture were very dusty and dirty. The shower and bath fittings in the main bedroom have all been fitted the wrong way round, and several bulbs were blown, but we replaced these ourselves from a store cupboard. Given the weekly rental these matters should not be so.

The barn was great but we did have some issues with cleanliness (some pots and pans should be chucked, top of the fridge was dirty and in view as you walk down the stairs, cusions in the master room were stained, small points and easily rectified though all sloppy issues which shouldn't have accused) and points such as the shower leaking into lounge from the master bedroom... Part of the shower didn't work. It would have been nice to have had a reply after we kindly and patiently left a note with such issues on our day of mdeparture. The horses took themselves from the field and joined us in our garden area which was entertaining.

We had a fab time. Great for families. Only negatives were: Newer part of barn too hot to sleep at night and fan was needed. Shower in ensure with large window overlooking the field was only ever Luke warm. Would defo return.
