Our family spent a wonderful bank holiday weekend at Howe Villa. We were all celebrating our Dad's 80th birthday and it was the most amazing house and setting. It's a stunning house in wonderful grounds by the river with so much space even for 13 of us. It's an easy walk into Richmond which is such a lovely town with a castle & a waterfall to enjoy. Perfect.

We celebrated my husband's 60th Birthday over New Year at Howe Villa, a perfect venue for a lovely family break. There was 14 of us, including six small children and we all absolutely loved it. There is enough space for everybody to have time to themselves if they would like to (not that we did), the kitchen is really functional and perfect for a house that size, a good all round venue with lots of facilities. We will definitely return at some point in the future. We also saw a kingfisher in the garden.

Howe Villa was very well equipped and had plenty of space for our extended family party to relax, both in the house and the large garden. Although we were a bit unnerved, from the pre booking information, by the fact that cooking would be by an Aga, we found it surprisingly easy to use. We had a lovely welcome from the owner who lives in a house next door; the layout of the two properties meant that we were not overlooked and felt we could be completely private from each other. The spread of our accommodation over 3 floors meant that it was ideal for our group- we could be together, but not in each other's way. It is easy to go for walks straight from the house, with various routes into Richmond or through fields and woodland on the other side of the River Swale.
