Lovely cottage by vineyard in owners' beautiful garden, deep in the Herefordshire countryside. I have stayed at Hop Cottage twice now and would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottage in beautiful setting, sitting outside in the afternoon overlooking the vines really special. Peaceful and quiet but with easy access to owners next door if you need anything and who were welcoming. Friendly dogs and extra friendly cat - (not suitable for those who don't like animals, however we do!) It is out in the country and not particularly near any shops but that suited us and not too far from Ledbury, a lovely town and the beautiful Malvern Hills. Bedroom overlooks owners garden and sheds so often people around outside in the day but not a problem for us. Twin beds on mezzanine so officially accommodates 4 but as the only bathroom is through the main bedroom I would say is really only suitable for older children as the room is open to the floor below and may be disturbing for those who go to bed early and a little dangerous for the very young. Also not suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet, steps to cottage quite steep and the bath is also very deep and has no handrail. Ideal for two people though, the cottage is quite small. However, absolutely fine for us and the surrounding area is lovely with lots to see and do. No phone signal though.

We could not have been made more welcome at Hop Cottage. On arrival, after a leisurely drive through stunning countryside, the cottage was spotlessly clean. We were given a tour and shown how to work everything. Then, we were given fresh milk for tea and left to unpack. In the kitchen, there were also freshly-laid eggs from the family's hens together with apples, pears and plums from the orchard, a delicious banana cake and even a bottle of wine from the vineyard. It was all rather overwhelming. The cottage faces West, so the sunsets were amazing. The lack of light pollution meant that the night skies were brilliant for stargazing. Whilst there was good wifi provided for reliable internet connection, mobile phone reception was virtually nil. It was so quiet and peaceful. The only disturbances were the occasional mooing of cows from a nearby dairy farm and the owners' cat and two delightfully batty black labs. Never before now have I seen a dog sitting on hind legs and reaching up to pick off and eat plums and pears! It was a wonderfully relaxing break. The only drawback were some of the roads which were quite narrow. You really need to know the width of your car and have a good sat nav or, better still, an OS map to keep you on the right roads

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Hop cottage along with our 2 year old and 12 week baby. We had a very happy time relaxing in the cottage and extensive gardens. Peter and Sharon went out of their way to make sure everything was OK including drilling a stair-gate into their wooden banister to insure our toddler was safe up in the attic.

A lovely cottage in a stunning location, we even befriended the owners dogs and cat for our short stay. The cottage was very comfy and modern with classic features too. The annex room was perfect for our daughter and the double room and en suite were very comfy.

What a little gem we have found in this beautiful and tranquil part of Herefordshire! Hop Cottage, and indeed the entire Coddington Vineyard, is just charming. Sharon and Peter made us feel very welcome and were always happy to help. Their wealth of local knowledge and excursion recommendations were invaluable and spot on. We must thank you Peter for our delightful trips to Ledbury, Leominster and Ludlow. We found Hop Cottage to be very comfortable and well equipped with everything you may need on a self-catering break. Sharon has thought of everything and we particularly enjoyed the homemade plum jam, fruit cake, Coddington Pinot Gris and eggs from the hens across the way. Our daily visits from Flush and Dash (the resident Labadors) and Jason the cat were the icing on the cake. Thank you Sharon and Peter for a lovely week at Hop Cottage, we look forward to visiting you all again.

Hop cottage is a charming barn conversion property set in a vineyard. It is utterly peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is small but adequate for a couple. As with many rental cottages, the lounge furniture could do with replacing (or at least new seat cushions), but other than that it is comfortable and was very clean. Others have commented on the over-friendly cat, who will come in and steal food if given a chance! The cottage in easy reach of Ledbury but the surrounding roads are narrow and winding. There are plenty of places to go even if the weather is poor, as it was during our stay.

The upstairs bedroom would be fine if you were about 3 feet tall, low divans would be a much better option. The other drawback is the only toilet being situated through the downstairs bedroom, so if a call of nature is required in the night, you will have to disturb the occupants of that room. On the plus side, it is set in a beautiful location, and extremely peaceful.

It is a lovely cottage given the location & setting. The gardens are stunning and it is so quiet. The cottage is full of character and rather sweet. However, the kitchen wasn't well equipped which made preparing meals a bit tricky - additional items that would be useful - oven gloves, at least one large oven tray,1 larger saucepan, 1 non stick pan that is not scratched (all of them were v scratched so could not be used), a draining board for the sink, a couple of heat proof mats. Thoughtful extras that were provided - juice, eggs, scones, jam, toilet rolls, small bathroom kit were all lovely and gratefully received. It's a nice cottage if you're not too fussy and the decor is neutral & pleasant so appeals to many. The second bedroom is on a mezzanine level which is very waved so not good for adults - smaller children will enjoy. Unfortunately I'm rather fussy so won't be going back again

Hop Cottage is a beautiful conversion of an historic building in peaceful surroundings. The owners provided a thoughtful welcome pack after our long journey. We spent a relaxing week exploring Ledbury and the surrounding area and look forward to returning in the future.
