Nice, cosy, cottage, in a nice area. The house was clean and very cosy equipped. There are less parking places available.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage for the second time. The kitchen and bathroom are modern and in good condition. The location is fantastic, close to nice walks on the downs and only a short bus ride away from the town and seafront. Shops are very close, and a nice pub/restaurant at the bottom of the road. All in all a sweet little cottage in a lovely village.

A clean, nice furnished little house in the quiet part of Patchham. Well equipped kitchen , nice garden, big bathroom. Good location for trips around the beautiful region. Easy contact and key delivery. We enjoyed our stay a lot and can recommend Honeysuckle Cottage to following visito rs. The staircase is really very steep, but well covered with carpets, so one does not slip away.

This cottage is in a good location in a pretty village. If you take a dog, there are plenty of recreation areas to take them for a walk. There are a few points - the garden was enclosed but apart from the grass it was very over grown with brambles and bind weed growing over a chair and bench in the corner. The bench which wasn't over grown was so wobbly I wouldn't trust sitting on it, the table and chairs were really dirty (I'm not talking just a few days worth) one of the chairs was broken. The windows in the cottage, were so dirty you could hardly see out of the upstairs windows. The bedooms are a nice size and bright. The twin metal beds were wobbly and squeaked with every minor movement making it hard to sleep. The bathroom was clean but there was a large hole around the spot light over the shower, I worried if it was safe due to the water. The shower head was also dirty. The kitchen was relatively clean but the extraction fan above the hobs was filthy and had thick grease drops on it which I had to wipe off. Two of the four hobs would not light. The living room had a very horrible damp sour smell, I'm not sure where it was coming from. Over all the cottage does seem a bit basic and tired, in need of a spring clean and some of the furniture updating. I'm genuinely not trying to be harsh with my review but at the price I paid, I just don't think it was worth it and could have been much nicer.

We found Honeysuckle Cottage very basic. Although clean, it is let down by very basic furniture and kitchen utensils. There is a small freezer in cupboard which was unplugged when we arrived, and it would have been nice to have it turned on as normally you would food shop on your first day, which we did, and we couldn't get any frozen food . It is in a good area for travelling to Brighton, and bus stop is close by. Unfortunately, a neighbour kept parking right in front of the living room window, giving us no chance to park, and not much room to walk out front door. The garden furniture needs updating and garden needs tidying up. We did find the stairs very steep but we were warned about this at time of booking. Overall, it is fine if you are using it as a base whilst travelling and having days out, but not very relaxing if you want to stay in.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your review. I am sorry you felt that the furniture and kitchen utensils were basic. The cottage is small and does not allow for a great deal of unnecessary furniture, however what is there has all been purchased within the past few years and is of good quality. Although the cottage sleeps 4, there is a dinner service and cutlery and glasses for 6/8 people, together with 8 mugs, several pots, pans and bowls and electrical items as listed. Sadly there is no space for a dishwasher. The freezer is generally cleaned and defrosted between guests and left unplugged as many people do not use it. It does cool down quickly but I will take your point and leave it on in future. Unfortunately I cannot 'police' where the neighbours park, but luckily unlike many other areas around Brighton, we have no parking restrictions in the road so there is always somewhere to park when staying at the cottage, free of charge. The garden table and chairs were purchased last year. The lawn was mowed and several shrubs were pruned and cut back before your arrival. I have many guests returning each year who enjoy visiting the cottage.
