Description

This holiday property has landscaped gardens dotted with seating areas - ideal to relax in and enjoy the tranquillity.

Located in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and a short walk from the famous Cropton Brewery, these three of eleven holiday cottages (refs 29762, 29763 and 29801) are surrounded by 80 acres of open countryside and are set on a working equestrian farm. Daisy Cottage (29762) is a semi-detached cottage, The Granary (29801) is a detached barn conversion and Honeysuckle (29763) is a terraced property, all set in a rural location. Guests are welcome to visit the Friesian mares and foals wandering at their leisure. Landscaped gardens dotted with seating areas are an ideal place in which to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. An ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area, as the market town of Pickering is just 5 miles away, where guests can board the NYM steam train - sit back and enjoy the stunning scenery as it meanders its way through the Esk Valley into Grosmont and Goathland. Cropton Forest is ideal for cycling and walking enthusiasts, which is just minutes away from the farm. With quaint little villages dotted around the National Park, guests will be spoilt for choice. The ancient port of Whitby is an easy 18-mile drive, with Sandsend a little further along the coastline and a 3-mile stretch of sandy beach joining the two together. Take a step back in time and visit the smugglers coves of Robin Hood’s Bay and Runswick Bay - children will love fossil hunting here. Further south, the elegant seaside town of Scarborough, with a colourful promenade and two sandy bays, is perfect for family days out. For a more sophisticated day out, the minster city of York is an easy 40-mile drive and home to art galleries, museums and theatres. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Nice cottage in a very quiet rural location, plenty of walks right from the doorstep, but with shops and pubs close by, ideal for dog owners or people looking for a peaceful break.

Enjoyed our stay but would have preferred a larger kitchen area. Cottage very comfortable and well equipped though and a big advantage having an enclosed garden for the dogs. Very well located to visit local attractions and were made very welcome.

We stayed a week in Honeysuckle. The owner was lovely and welcoming. We were welcomed with a lemon drizzle cake in the kitchen which we thought was a nice touch. The cottage was warm and comfortable and the enclosed garden was ideal for us and our dog. It is a good location for various walks with easy access to towns and the moors. We loved having the log burner, all wood was included in the price. The only slight niggle is that honeysuckle doesn't have a shower, only a shower head attached to the taps that wouldn't regulate temperature very well. This didn't bother us really, we just used the bath everyday. We would definitely recommend these cottages to anyone, we had a lovely week and will be returning.

One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Just about everything we needed. Beds very comfy. A private enclosed garden is a real thing with me - that I can open the back door and stay private. The horses were lovely, we went to see them every evening. Bonus could park right outside cottage. Location perfect for doing so many things-we went to York, York Maize, Pickering, NYMR, Whitby and Lightwater Valley to name a few. Only reason I put a 9 for facilities is I would have preferred a line in the garden to dry my washing outside when weather good rather than tumble dryer facility. Also the gas vent outside needs a new cover and please could the parrot be a bit quieter in the evenings - or tell the guests winding it up to stop!
